Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LatviaHowever, the room lacked natural daylight as it only had a small corner window. Also, parking comes with an additional charge, which was quite disappointing.
Our stay was good, and the location is perfect for exploring the town. The breakfast was exceptional, and the food was great.

IrelandThe room was not what we expected based on the photos when booking. The carpet was frayed and dirty looking, the leather on the bottom of the bed was whipped and frayed, and the wooden unit under the tv was very badly chipped and broken on the corners, We requested a room change but was told the hotel was full and to ask again following morning. We did and were told the hotel was full and no rooms available, even though we saw people checking out and multiple guests checking in hours later. Room we got was very poor , but friends rooms were a lot different, rest of hotel is beautiful, & ckean and modern, but would not stay here again based on the room we were allocated.
Bar staff were very nice ,helpful, professional and friendly . Maintenance man who fixed our heater in the room was friendly, efficient and got the job done super quick. Check in staff could have been a bit more friendlier, or helpful when approached with an issue.

United KingdomWe booked breakfast and were advised we would have to sit in the bar area because we had dogs - this was not a problem, what was a problem was no table laid and ready for us, we had to wait for someone to come and lay up for us

United KingdomFantastic location, very close to the centre of town with lots of lovely shops, cafes, bars and restaurants as well as the castle about 5 minutes walk away. The bed was nice and comfortable. We didn't eat there, but the restaurant looked lovely. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

United StatesBreakfast service was slow, with limited options and underwhelming quality. Parking came at an extra cost and was handled by a third party. My room felt small, uncomfortably warm, and showed some wear. Check-in was also delayed, as the reception doubles as the bar.
Just a short walk from Stirling Castle and other historic sites, the hotel offered modern bathrooms with excellent showers and comfortable beds.

United KingdomThe lift only goes to the first floor so we had to drag our suitcases up one floor as we stayed on the second. The breakfast bar was fine but not super veggie-friendly. They whipped up a very nice vegan breakfast for me even with the vegan sausages missing (they were out).
Very nice bathroom, big bath tub perfect for a relaxing bath. It's a 10 minute walk from Stirling Castle.

FranceThe poor breakfast person was totally overwhelmed. 1 person to manage 50 breakfast guests. With empty cereal packs piled up on the buffet and no coffee. I mentioned it to the receptionist who told me he was fine and if he needed help he would have asked... um ok?
This was such a disappointment. I was really looking forward to staying in this beautiful old building. The lobby and bar and breakfast area looked like the inside of an 80s cruiseship. The rooms were dated and furniture in need of repair. The bathroom was big and nice. I could barely open the window more than a centimeter and it was hot.

Good location downtown up on a hill. I found the bar very expensive. $42.00 for two coffee with a shot of Bailys was a bit rich. The breakfast was good but ran out fast. Coffee was the hardest to get in the morning.

United KingdomI would have liked the room to have bee n a little bigger. It felt like we were squeezed into a corner.
Our room was very small, with no mirror so had to ask a member of staff to get me one. Location was very good. There was only ever one waiter on at breakfast so he was always very busy and sometimes we had to wait for things like butter, plates etc.

United KingdomRooms are very warm. There was a fan provided which we should have used but didn’t want to disturb the little one. Hot water was not very hot. Baths had to be topped up with the shower to make it warmer.
Great location. Went with family and we were 5 mins walk or less to castle. 5 minutes walk or less to shops and restaurants and around 10-15 minutes walk from bowling. Easy drive as well if ye wanted to use car. Rooms were very clean and had everything we needed minus a fridge which would have been handy for the wee ones milk. A travel cot was provided with no hassle at all from hotel when requested at 2 days notice. Staff were great we noticed how polite everyone was. Breakfast was really good. Cold options available in a buffet style and then you can order hot food which comes roasting and was very nice.
