The room was very small, just room for the bed and desk. The shower was in the bath and we thought it needed a rubber mat for safety.

Friendly staff and good evening menu as well as excellent included breakfast. The decor was modern and everything was professionally cleaned. The reception was spacious and welcoming.

Very noisy due to property being on a main road with only single glazed windows. First night did not have a very good sleep as woken by people in the next room playing very loud music at 3 am. My Husband had to go down to reception to ask the night porter to come and speak to them. Buffet breakfast, food was stone cold and kept running out. Eggs Benedict on the menu but asked for it and told no longer available!

ideally placed hotel to explore Cumbria and Hadrian's Wall. the food was very good. The porridge at breakfast I would highly recommend. We stayed for our Evening meals also. The choice was good and the waiters were very accommodating. The twin room was clean and comfortable

I felt dinner, while delicious, was a touch expensive - I'd say that £4.99 for side orders of things like chips is steep. Only other negative is common to a lot of places these days - irritating loud, modern music constantly pumped through every public area. Musical taste is a person matter of course, but having to raise your voice over some breathy youngster, shouting how tortured her soul is because the love of her life won't return her calls doesn't really add to the ambience or enjoyment of what should be a pleasant, relaxing environment. But clearly I'm in the minority these days...

I found this hotel a very nice surprise, very clean and comfy room with ensuite - my only observation with that is that the shower is an over bath type, some may find it harder to step into the bath as oppose to a shower tray. The small enclosed decking area was nice to sit in on an evening in the good weather. Breakfast was excellent - a nice breakfast room, with good service and choice - a real highlight. A lot of thought and effort with detail has gone into this place. I'll definitely stay again when in the area.

Good sized rooms, really bright and quiet! Good en-suite with large shower. Bed was really comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Plenty of off road parking and a comfortable walk into the city.

It wasn't far from town but it was uphill to get there which wasn't much fun dragging a case from the station. This wasn't their fault, I just wish I'd know beforehand

The room was small but actually bigger than it looked in the pictures and nicely decorated. It was very warm but when I spoke to reception they immediately brought me a large fan for the room which helped a lot. Breakfast was good - it was all really fresh and good quality - the bacon was especially nice. The restaurant was also good I had a really nice dinner.

no draught beers , bottles only and all transactions by card only. Cash should still be king. heavy traffic on road outside made exiting car park an exciting experience.

Good clean and airy room. very good breakfast buffet and huge car park. easy 15 minute walk to city centre. easy access from motorway. very good evening meal in restaurant. Strongly recommend the lamb.

This is not a complaint, but I forgot to mention to the breakfast staff, that they nicely served very nice butter portions already laid out on the tables, but some of the tables enjoyed direct morning sunlight. This melted the butter to a liquid. As I say, not a complaint, but forgot to draw it to thier attention. Breakfast had everything including great sausages. Loved it.

Lovely welcome on arrival. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was superb, cooked beautifully with local produce. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Great location. The only reason it didn't get a 10, there was no lift but would definitely stay again.

Reception & sitting areas are beautifully decorated, our room was a good size with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was self serve and excellent quality. Easy walking distance from Carlisle city centre with a very good pub across the road. We were unfortunately too late back from our day trip to sample the evening meals.

The only part of the room that could be improved was the shower, not very powerful but otherwise it's a lovely Hotel and we will be returning.

Hotel is lovely, clean, bar/food, breakfast was fabulous, room was comfy and big enough for a family. Hotel location is good, a short walk to the parks/town. Car park was really handy, Staff are friendly and professional.

The location was centrally located in Carlisle, the Irish gentleman from the bar was a pleasant and engaging individual. The staff was courteous, and the downstairs male toilet could be upgraded to a more modern state. The establishment is an older structure, however. The room was situated in the front of the building, and the road was quite noisy throughout the night and day.
