Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe fridge made a hell of a din, unplugged.. problem solved. I had problems with regulating the shower, it was scalding, I couldn't work out the cold from hot. I tried individually but both poured out hot water. I was wary of using it. I gave it a miss as I was returning home. Also the sink took 10 mins to drain. Old plumbing !! I'd have liked a bedside lamp .. Apart from that .. nothing !!
I'd read negative reviews so was a bit wary. I stayed just for one night. I'd booked an economy single .. I was just going to sleep there not host a party ! I had room 274 .. up a couple of flights of stairs and sort of set on its own. It was small, had a single bed with pristine white linen, towels and a snuggly duvet. A tiny shower room..the toilet had a chain pull I haven't seen one of those for years! and very importantly a kettle! Stayed close by before so aware of train rumblings and packed earplugs .. no problems there I'd opted for breakfast, I'm not a cooked breakfast person but what i saw a family tucking in to was freshly cooked and looked lovely!! What was on offer otherwise was more than adequate.. I had a big bowl of muesli, Greek yoghurt fruit and honey, egg, cheese and toast, 2 big mugs of coffee and juice... and lots of other choices like cakes and biscuits were available I was happy with this hotel, economy yes .. but with an economy price. Sometimes people want luxury at low price hence all the negativity All the Staff were very helpful and pleasant, check in /out easy . I'd certainly stay again without hesitation x It's perfectly located for Paddington Station x Thank you Dolphin x

AustraliaWe recently stayed at the Dolphin Hotel as a family of five, and while it may not be the most luxurious option, the location truly made it worth it. The hotel is just a short walk from Paddington Station, making it incredibly convenient for getting around London. We were able to easily access the Tube and train services, as well as explore the nearby areas, including Hyde Park and Notting Hill. It was an ideal base for our family to enjoy the city. The hotel itself isn’t fancy, but it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Our room was located on the top floor, which came with a bit of a challenge—there’s no elevator, so we had to carry our luggage up several flights of stairs. It wasn’t a huge issue, but it’s something to keep in mind, especially if you’re traveling with heavy bags or little ones. Despite the stairs, the room was perfectly fine for our family. It was clean, spacious enough for all of us, and had all the basic amenities we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the quiet, relaxing atmosphere after a busy day of sightseeing. Overall, this hotel is a great, no-frills option for families visiting London. The location makes it a solid choice, and the room suited our needs just fine. If you're looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay without the luxury price tag, this hotel is definitely worth considering

United KingdomHotel was in a lovely area and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was a little disappointing with not many options and we did not realise at the time of booking that we would be able to hear and feel what I assume was an underground line running very close to the hotel.

United KingdomLack of a lift might be a challenge for older guests and those with mobility issues. There was a little bit of street noise; this is central London, so that is to be expected.
Great value accommodation in a great location, ideal for a stopover in London. The staff are helpful, and pleasant and the room was itself very clean.

United KingdomNo lift, and I didn't fancy carrying my luggage up 3 flights of stairs, but I was offered a ground floor room.
A central location, in a leafy green square with a public garden, 2 minutes walk from Paddington. Good value, clean and comfortable. Breakfast available and plenty of eateries closeby. Also, tea and coffee facilities, and a fridge, in the room.~ Recommended!

United KingdomRoom was on the 4th floor without lift so difficult to carry luggage upstairs due to narrow stairs. Breakfast room is small so hard to move around when busy.
The location is ideal for visiting London. We were able to leave our luggage on check out day so we could explore more.

ArgentinaThe only bad thing this time is that we had a large group of 60 students staying at the property and they were really loud. We complained to the front desk but they said they had asked them to hush and if not they were charging them a fine. They should have been more pushy with them and they should have grouped guests in same floors instead of mixing reservations. Other than that I recommend!
This is the second time I stay here. The location is excellent, the breakfast is good and rooms are comfortable. I definitely recommend!

FranceYou can easily get access to this holel thanks to the transport means nearby(2 min from Paddington station). You can easily find restaurants and food stores within 5 min around the location. We were a family of 5 and the room was quite small but quiet and comfortable with its own bathroom and toilets. Sometimes you hear the underground but it does not prevent us from sleeping well. The breakfast room is very small if all residents are there at the same time: coffee eggs bread jam ham juices...everything you need is there! To conclude, we have spent a good time in this hotel.
