This was a midway stop for our road trip up North, this place is ideally situated, beautiful gardens and great food.

It is an unmanned hotel, which we were not aware of. So arriving earlier than we thought, we couldnt check in as there is no one there. The rate was also a bit high considering it didn't include breakfast. There was no casual bar area to enjoy the football, we had to travel to another hotel to watch the games.

The surrounding area of the hotel was lovely.

Location was great we were on route between Gloucestershire and the Isle of Skye. A perfect stop over.

The room was tired, and dark due to the dark furniure, the fire alam went off twice in the late evening which ment we had dress but iwas turned off before got to our room door, otherwise the stay was as we expected.

Small, comfortable hotel, with amazing veiws over the Scottish Country side, the staff were warm and welcoming and the food was excellent. The beds were comfy and the facilities were clean.

TV in room poor. Cheap, old, basic with terrible strobe light effect at night when on stand by so you have to switch off at mains. This would easily be remedied with even a better 2nd had flatscreen.

Staff wasn’t very friendly. Poor noise insulation, and we ended up hearing the dryer in the staff room next to us for most of the night, as well as the staff talking and laughing late into the night. Also the shower was rather average.

The location is great and access is well indicated. Breakfast was great.

a full Scottish which was lovely or a continental! Felt the breakfast was a bit expensive and not much options. The evening meal on the Friday night was lovely. Because of illness the manager and staff were run off there feet, people were being bussed to another hotel! Despite this the staff were Happy to open the bar and made you feel welcome.

Lovely location and easy to find. Staff where friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Nice big room with a small terrace. Very quiet and peaceful would stay there again.

Nice, comfortable room. Patio doors opened out, and outside table and chairs provided, which was a nice feature and very welcome given the heat! Also, the host was very helpful; in particular arranging transport to a sister hotel for an evening meal, as the hotel’s own kitchen wasn’t open. Understandable situation given the need for balancing staffing and costs.

Worn out towels, limited bar and wine options, polyester sheets, cheap loo rolls, staff who clearly resented your presence, a limited menu with options that were out of stock

The Hotel claims to be 4 star but in truth it offers nowhere near this level of comfort or conviviality. Its sole benefit is its location and grounds which are superb but do not be fooled.

We booked a late check in but arrived to find the porter asleep and couldn’t access the property for half an hour. Waiting outside in the cold, banging on doors and making fruitless phone calls.
