Room 9 is in the old part of the hotel up numerous flights if stairs with doorways not ideal for anyone over 5ft 6. Bar staff gave different versions of whether I could run a tab when we were eating a meal - very frustrating!

Good location in centre of town. 15 minute drive to Longleat. 1Comfortable bed. Food was good, breakfast cooked to order.

The bathroom 😕 (both on this visit and the last) could do with a tidy up and a lick of paint. Flaking paintwork/emulsion on walls. It just looks tired and neglected even though it is spotlessly clean with wonderful towels. The loo flush was temperamental also.

Absolute love the welcome (we were remembered by the manager from a previous visit - invaluable!) and the breakfast! Very comfy bed and excellent tea tray. Car park is a bonus!

The hotel side was very disappointing. I booked 2 rooms one was ok but the other was awful. There was mould on the bathroom ceiling, especially above the shower. The very small soap dish was dirty and there was nowhere to hang wet towels

A great place to stay with good location. The hotel had a really nice atmosphere and the staff are happy and friendly. The breakfast was good too. Safe parking at the rear of the hotel.

Much of the hotel in need of upgrading,believe this planned for next year. Personally not keen on sports TV on at all times.

We booked a balcony room which was spacious and comfortable. Having the balcony with a table and chairs was great. Nice large bed.

Bit of street noise early hours but no issue.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast traditional and vegan good. Room was fine, bed comfortable. Bathroom needs some work. Had a room up a lot of narrow stairs so maybe not good if restricted mobility. Location excellent for driving out or visiting sunday market as right outside the hotel. Private parking next street easy to access. Would use again.

Bathroom upgrade required - noisy old extraction fan!

Room was nice though on the main road so potential traffic/town noisy. Bathroom was tired and needs a refit without a bathtub though shower had been replaced and works well. Characterful place to stay, conveniently in the middle of town with parking if you get there early enough, though free more accessible overnight parking is available in the public carpark 18:00-09:00 behind the hotel if you dont. Breakfast and staff were great. Would recommend for short stay and nice bar area with sports TV screens if you like it that way!

Room was up numerous narrow stairs and in a separate part of the building. It was also very warm as directly under the roof. Paintwork everywhere was shabby and whole hotel part needs redecorating. Road noise was very bad as room 6 faces the very busy road. No mirror over the sink so husband had to shave without a nearby mirror (only one was across the bathroom). Car parking is in an underground car park (secure but not convenient) so carrying luggage round to the main entrance not particularly easy - unless you were travelling very light!

Very friendly, welcoming staff. Check-in was painless. Breakfast was excellent both mornings, as was dinner on the one night we ate in. Bed was comfortable and room fairly spacious (room 6).

Nothing. Some rooms are on the front overlooking the street. But by late evening it was very quiet. The hotel is a very old building and some rooms have a lot of stairs no lift. So if you have trouble with stairs contact the hotel to see if they can give you a room on a lower floor.

The hotel is in the middle of town. Rooms were clean and bed was very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We would choose to stay again when next Visiting the area.

Our room was a little tired, the TV kept getting interference/connection issues, the toilet needed a few flushes to work, the room could do with a spruce update.

The staff, location, breakfast and general ease of the stay was great. The bed was comfy and sheets and towels perfectly clean. We'd stay again.
