No mirror in the bathroom made having a shave a bit awkward as I hadn’t packed a travel one!

Lovely old house on the heads with great view of the lake. Good response to messages/enquiries before stay by Eloisa who’s was also very helpful and nice during my stay. Nice to have dedicated parking (not that usual in Keswick!).

I had a lovely stay at this hotel. The room was clean, cosy and had everything I needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my visit. The location is perfect — close to shops, restaurants and public transport, yet quiet at night. Breakfast was fresh and varied. A pleasant, comfortable hotel with a warm atmosphere. I’d happily stay again.

The climb to the top floor with a full back-pack !!! Assistant was offered . Explained that such items are much easily carried when on the owner's back !!!

The room was excellent and very comfortable, featuring a cosy bed. It had a powerful shower and great facilities. As a bonus, there was an additional small room accessible via a staircase, complete with a seating area and wonderful views of the lake. Free Wi-Fi is available. A nice cooked breakfast and a good selection at the buffet were available. Free parking was offered at the rear of the hotel.

The steps and the rise to the carpark was just to much for my sister but we had my family nearby so they were on hand to help

Really enjoyed my overnight stay at the Highfield. Bed was comfy, room was as expected. Vegetarian breakfast was OK: fresh fruit and juice were lovely. Unfortunately, the vegetarian sausages were pretty horrible, but the scrambled eggs and hash browns were delicious. Super friendly staff, excellent parking availability and excellent location. The showers were very temperamental: offering either boiling heat or freezing cold. (I suppose that’s to be expected though in an older building.) Overall, I’d be happy to return and would recommend to friends.

An absolutely fantastic welcome, and given lots of useful information given about facilities, parking, breakfast times upon arrival. Felt like the friendly staff couldn’t have done enough for us. The room was clean with very comfortable beds. Shower was super hot which I’ve found isn’t the case in other hotels. We loved the offer of cake and tea in the afternoon, a welcome treat after a long drive! Breakfast was delicious with lots of options. Wish we could’ve stayed for longer! Fantastic location, very short walking distance to the village. Would definitely recommend.

I was upgraded to a lovely double room called the West Turret with a great view over the lake and fells. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I will definitely be back. Breakfast was excellent too. 10/10.
