Friendly and professional greeting on arrival. Lovely hotel and grounds plus views to the sea. We had an incredible sunset! Fabulous food and service. a really enjoyable stay.

The roof is currently being replaced and so the views are blocked by scaffolding however this did not impact my stay and is only a temporary issue. I have stayed here 4 times and will be staying again next year.

Location is very picturesque and peaceful. Breakfast is excellent in terms of taste and presentation using locally sourced products. Staff are very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble.

Stayed only one night, had a meal at the restaurant which was really good food. Really well presented also. Had breakfast in the morning which again was really nice food. Wifi whilst there was better than most hotels also.

I love staying here when I come over to West Cumbria for reunions with my schoolhood friends. I feel so well taken care of, and the location looking over the Solway (and its spectacular sunsets) is just lovely . Whilst the hotel is undergoing some refurbishment, it in no way interferes with feeling relaxed. My room was extremely comfortable and felt luxurious. The flower beds in the grounds are particularly lovely, and once the development and plans are complete, the grounds will be really elegant. The food, too, is really good, as are the meals served nearby at The Galloping Horse, which is run by the same people. I urge you not to be put off by the refurbishment. It still feels very much like a Country Hotel, with much to offer, near the stunning landscape of the North Western Lakes.

The manor is being refurbished, which we didn’t know about but noise was kept to a minimum. It was very comfy and peaceful at night

Well this is by no means a complaint but we were travelling with my elderly farther and he struggled getting in and out of the bath to take a shower.. Maybe hand rails or rooms with shower cubicles could be considered..

As usual the the staff were all fabulous, welcoming, professional, knowledgeable..

Bit of a let down compared to our last stay, Staff great but though the sausages were cooked they were very pink and looked raw so not eaten, put me off but they offered to redo, but I said no, my partners beans were cold as were the hash browns, but they offered to retook, The previous breakfast shows it was a that this was a one off, and we will be back

Rooms dated but the hotel is about to begin a refurb on decor, it will be 10 out of 10 then, even though decor dated at the moment this did not affect our experience.

The decor was a little tired in places but there were signs everywhere apologising for any mess and explaining they were renovating. Having said that, it certainly wasn’t scruffy and still felt very clean and comfortable. More tea bags in the room would have been good (there were only 2).

The staff were especially lovely, friendly and accommodating. As a female staying alone (for work) I felt fully safe and looked after by every staff member I came across, they couldn’t do enough for me. Had a gorgeous meal for dinner, breakfast was equally lovely. The view from my room was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable.

Food in the evening was a bit poor on the Christmas menu, was expecting something more substantial but tasted good.

Great spacious rooms, comfy beds, great breakfast. Staff were welcoming. Warm and cozy environment and a lot of good parking available.

It states everywhere that modernisation is taking place and this is very much needed. The front area was a building site, the carpets were very old and worn. Fixtures in the bathroom rusty and leaving marks everywhere. No toilet brush or hairdryer.

The overall feel of the Manor was superb. The staff are friendly approachable and very attentive
