Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainWalls were very thin and not soundproofed, which disturbed us at night as there was some noise.
Very big en-suite bathroom and comfortable bed.

AustraliaThe heating is a bit tricky - you don't seem to have any control over the heating system so we were sleeping with a window wide open in the middle of March.

CanadaThe location current has a lot of construction. Their check in process seemed odd to us. You have to ring a bell and then they come down 5-10 mins later to let you in. The place is dated and the bed wasn’t comfortable. It was so hot despite us turning the heat down and neither of us slept well

United KingdomDecor is a bit dated but for the price who cares, worth it for a city break and a good place to stay without silly Edinburgh tax!
Great location for easy access to the centre, quiet area and nice staff. Comfortable bed, really warm, nice good hot shower and easy check in.

United KingdomThe door of the bathroom didn't actually shut unless locked as had no actual handle a few little bits of the room needed maintenance like the shelf in the bathroom sloping down but nothing that overly affected our stay.
Leith house replenished our coffee and tea daily and we're happy for us to store our bags in the day when we arrived early. The bed was comfortable and we were allowed to come and go as we pleased.

Czech Republic- Bathroom door cannot be closed - keeps opening. Therefore if one is laying on the bed, he/she can directly see a person using a toilet or takig a shower. About 3cm space below door, meaning you da hear everything in the bathroom as if there was no door. - nowhere to hang towels - quite small room, low cieling - small bed, one banket - paper walls, can hear neighbours speaking/their tv Floor and bed squeaking a lot - bathroom very old, showering curtain with dirt in corners
+ Great location,. Very (too) warm inside + cold outside + windows do open= easy to regulate tempererature. + kettle + some complimentary tea + 2 glasses, 2 mugs, 2 tea spoons + clear instructions when checking-in and checking-out

United KingdomThe room would have benefited from better storage for guest's clothes and possessions as there was no wardrobe just 4 coat hangers, and no shelves. Nowhere in the bathroom to put toiletries except the cistern lid or the floor. It was a family room for three, it was a bit of a squeeze for three people's belongings.
The location was close to transport links and within walking distance of the city centre. No breakfast was served but plenty of cafes near by. There was a kettle etc in the room. The shower was spacious and efficient. The heating was powerful if you needed it.

AustraliaA reception, no one is available if you come early with your bags and you havent arranged it before. Bathroom very small, if I was a larger person I would not have been able to fit in the shower. The room was very outdated, maybe paint the rooms white and have a lighter carpet. The room was a nice room but uncomfortable bed. The furniture would have looked nicer in a brighter room as it was nice.
Great location - tram not far away into city. Shops nearby for breakfast etc.

SwedenVery expensive for the quality of the room. To be fair, this is in line with Edinburgh prices. Our room was on the ground floor of a potentially beautiful terrace house with high and decorated ceilings. However, the furniture was very old, same thing for the carpet and curtains, none of the lights by the bed worked even after swapping the light bulb with a functioning one. It's a pity because it wouldn't take a lot of work to improve substantially the room.
Location is good, close to vibrant Leith Walk but in a quiet street.

FranceYou pay for what you get. Basically, this accommodation is average. Staff is not friendly, but not unfriendly, furniture isn't new but could be older, don't look to closely at the carpet, comfort is fine but nothing out of the extraordinary. Just plain and simple and if you're aware before arriving you'll have a nice stay. I liked the location in the residential area, it's calm and still well connected. Tram is 5min walking distance and we walked to the city center a couple of times. Also, we discovered Leith walkway, which is really nice to do.
