Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThe location is a bit further from the center, 15 minute walk will take you to the Limehouse light rail station and from there you can get on to the tube
Unique atmosphere and really nice staff. The building used to be a library and transformed into hotel in 2021. Room accomodations were okay, the bedroom even had slippers

United KingdomThere would be enough room for a 2 seater sofa or comfortable lounge chairs, which would have been lovely after a long day. Instead, the seating was more like dining chairs and not very relaxing. No toiletries, we didn't bring any as usually they are included in the price.
Loved the hotel had a former life, and they had kept the ethos of it being a library. With rooms being dedicated to writers and poets. The bar and restaurant were full of wonderful objects. The hotel was in easy reach of tube there was a range of eating places near by. A great area for exploring the East end of London. Staff helpful and friendly they took us to our room and gave us history around the building. Room big clean had everything we needed. There is a mini bar, but we didn't use it. Bed comfortable had great nights sleep. Great shower and bath Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others

United StatesThe shower was not as clean as I would have liked, the room had several bright lights that couldn’t be turned off, and there is ineffective soundproofing in the rooms.
A very cute and unique hotel in a fun, safe location. Staff was friendly and the spa amenities were nice.

United KingdomI have stayed in nicer locations but this is not reflective of the hotel. It took approx 20-25mins via tube and DLR to get to the hotel from Euston.
The staff were incredible!! The kindest and most generous hotel we have ever stayed in. The hotel is immaculately clean and smells wonderful. We were given an upgrade to a Superior King room (Issac Newton) which was super comfy! I wish we had of booked ahead for the spa.

United KingdomLove the facilities, this was our second visit. This time I got to enjoy the spa, the sauna was very quiet, and I got the hammam treatment that was very much worth it. The staff is super attentive and their breakfast is absolutely amazing, great choice and outstanding quality. Highly recommend, will definitely be back again.

I loved the location, close enough to central London but far enough to get out of the crowds. The hotel itself was unique with its decor, there was a lovely roof top terrace where I you could sit and have a drink. My room was decorated after a famous French philosopher. There is a lovely Turkish bath inside the hotel which was just what I needed after a day walking round London.

United KingdomExcellent find. Quirky hotel that has kept lots of character from the original library. Well placed for transport links to the city and West end. The breakfast was an excellent selection of fresh fruits and anything that you could need. We had an evening meal one one of our nights which was excellent value for money freshly cooked

United KingdomOnly small niggles, the flush mechanism in the toilet was letting by and dripping loudly, as it was an accessible room (not mentioned when booking) the door to the bathroom could not be shut tightly, the drip got old fast. Bar was shut after the concert, think it closed at 11pm.
Very convenient for the concert at the Troxy, and remarkably quiet with the Commercial Road outside. Aircon worked well, room was nicely themed and bed was comfortable, in fact the whole theme of the hotel was very interesting. Breakfast was excellent, did not get much time to enjoy it as had to get an early train. I nearly missed the message that states you need mandatory proof of ID (Drivers License or Passport) for check in.

Comfortable beds, great bathroom, fluffy robes, excellent breakfast buffet and the hotel is enchanting
