Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAs mentioned, our original room was adjacent to the lift mechanism, so we would hear the mechanism clunking as people used the lift - frequently considering it was a 5 floor hotel. We managed to change rooms but had we not been able to this would likely have stopped us from sleeping
We stayed over Easter weekend, so prices were a little cheaper than normal. They felt like a really appropriate amount for an affordable stay in the West End. This hotel is located right in the middle of the West End, opposite Chinatown. This was ideal for us as we were visiting to watch a show at the Lyric Theatre, which was just down the street. Staff were very helpful, and even offered to let us switch rooms when our first room had issues with noise from the lift. The bed was very comfy and there was a decent amount of space in the room for the price.

United KingdomWe had chosen the hotel for location to the west end and although not able to sleep here, based on what we experienced, I would recommend completely.
Rating is based on the staff who had to move us to a sister hotel due to a leak on our floor. They were exceptional!

Great location for all the tourist spots. No restaurant actually in the hotel but they serve breakfast next door. Staff helpful and polite. Would stay again if in central London. I had read reviews saying the rooms were small-we had a twin deluxe and this was not the case.

Had variety of outlet plugs. The Quiet was lovely. Fruit that was replenished daily a huge plus. Shortbread cookies, of course! Friendly staff and the best location for theatre and food.

United KingdomRoom wasn't cleaned after our first night, but it was clear someone had been in because the coffee pods had been refilled, but the coffee cups were still dirty and bed hadn't been made. Water hadn't been refreshed either. There was also a bit of blood on the wall, which didn't scream 'clean'.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating when spoken too. Being joined to a bakery for breakfast is a great idea.

Everything!!! Rooms are gorgeous. Shower is wonderful. Bed is very comfortable. We are celebrating our 37th anniversary, and my birthday. Our bed was covered with rose petals and a bottle of prosecco! The location is excellent for theatre goers. Loved the whole experience!

Isle of ManIt was a small room - losing the little glass side table for the fruit would make it feel more spacious and reorganisation of the shelving would make the space more practical.eg move the safe or the hanging rail so you can actually hang things up
Very convenient and surprisingly quiet at night

United KingdomThe location of our bedroom was facing a side street rather than the main road on Shaftesbury Avenue but it was still rather noisy, however I guess that's the trade off when you want a centrally based hotel.
After checking into reception, we were offered a glass of Prosecco, what a lovely welcome! All the staff we met were very courteous and helpful. The room was lovely and spotless. The staff had prepared the room for a special birthday - rose petals, homemade chocolate brownies and Prosecco on arrival in our room - it was such a nice touch as I only expected a birthday balloon! The location of the hotel was fantastic - close to the tour bus stop, across the road from Chinatown, theatres in abundance with so many places to eat and drink. We absolutely loved it and will be back.

The staff were excellent, a warm welcome, great amenities and attentive service. Good coffee and tea, sufficient pods etc. A few complementary surprises brightened our day. The location is central and yet not noisy. We enjoyed the feel of the place.
