dinner was cold and Very slow. they were 2 chefs down and did try very hard to help so would probably go back and let them try again. Generally the place needs lots of little things doing and a good clean up. our room had 2 faulty showers so they moved up. staff helpfull though

We had no bath robes or slippers as our friends did.The service at breakfast was atrocious to say the least, definitely not in the same standard as everything else. No fish choice either

The wait time for food was too long and there seemed to be a lot of annoyed customers. We also feel we paid more than we should for the dinner we received although the food in general was very good.

We had dinner one evening. We both thought our dishes weren't great and overpriced. We had a take away curry the next night which was much better.

First impression was we liked the building. Had a personality about it. It has a bit of history as we told by Peter who i have to say is a really nice guy and very helpful.all the staff were always ready to help you with any questions you had. Restaurant was very good and the food was excellent.overall,I would come back again

Wooden toilet seat in bathroom and the mirror in the bathroom was far too high, I couldn’t see! A few scuff marks on walls and burn hole in curtain of wardrobe.

The bath had a dripping tap & you could see it had be tried to be repaired but the finish after this was both messy & unresolved. When we arrived the one person who seemed to man the reception area was on the telephone. He didn't even look up to acknowledge us or to signal an apology or hello. We waited about 10 mins before looking for staff elsewhere wanting to get some lunch as we had spa treatments booked at 4 so we didn't want to rush or wait for this man to check us in any longer, . We were greeted & given a table speedily in the restaurant. I went back to reception. Where the gentleman was finally off the phone Took my details & I said we were having dinner. When we later tried to find him he asked me if I had checked in. When I had only 20 Mins previously checked in with himself!!! Was a bit strange. It didn't spoil out time as we are not those kind of people however I have visited the property in the past & haven't experienced this & had good expectations that weren't quite met.

I love the resort. The old big rooms & the whole property. Our room was really large with great facilities. And super comfortable beds, which was great. The spa staff were lovely, kind & efficient, as were the waiting & restaurant staff.

The bed was hard. A four poster sounds lovely but it had wooden slats so no bounce and comfort, the mattress was firm, and we had to ask for extra blankets to make it bearable. There was little hot water in the bathroom, ran it for 15 minutes and only luke warm. The cooked breakfast was good but the coffee was awful, tasted of tea as it was served in a T pot. but was definitely an attempt at coffee.Servers at breakfast were a bit bored.

The spa facilities and the massage treatments were amazing, this was the highlight and the thing the hotel did well at. It looks like more money is put into this aspect. The hotel decor was grand and impressive. The room was good overall, with a few exceptions. Servers at eve meal were good.

Was a little disappointed by the room's outside space being a very small fenced enclosure due to spa facilities being the other side of the fencing.

We had a lovely room & the facilities were excellent unfortunately we didn't have sufficient time during our stay to make use of them. The staff were very friendly & helpful.

I tried to take a bath but the water to the bath was cold, we had to get a maintenance staff member to fix the hot water but by the time this was done I hadn’t time for a bath. Also there was no toilet brush in the bathroom. There is no lighting on the entrance to the hotel from the road. We had walked into Shepton Mallet for the carnival and I had to use my phone torch when walking out of the hotel to the road. This and the fact there is no side pavement to walk on could be a health and safety issue if a vehicle drives in and there are people walking.

The room was very comfortable and spacious, the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The hotel is well located.

We were given access to the spa facilities. It should be priced into the room cost.

Warm welcome. The rooms and the facilities have character. Food was consistently of a high standard. The spa facilities were very good.
