    - limited breakfast choice/variety - unfortunately there was an event/party on during our stay. We were pre warned about this which we appreciated. Our room was pretty near the event room and whilst the disco was reasonably quiet (we could hear it but it wasn’t loud) unfortunately the walls in the bedrooms and main bedroom door allowed a lot of sound through. We could hear everyone entering the building and going back to their rooms in dribs and drabs during the early hours which caused very poor sleep. Obviously, the hotel can’t help the noise of the guests but better sound proofed rooms would have been nicer. - the rooms were way too hot! - small beds

    - great location - lovely hotel grounds

The hot choices for breakfast looked very appetising but they were cold, as were the plates.

The cold breakfast buffet was excellent ( fresh fruit, yogurt, overnight oats, home made preserves, pastries) and the staff lovely.

The bar wasn’t that accessible given that it was closed, staff did serve us but didn’t seem to happy.

The location, grounds the layout of the accommodation.

A little bit dated rooms but nowadays the cost of refurbishing is astronomical

Plenty of parking , clean and tidy and a very good breakfast

The room was small The bed was small The breakfast was OK but there were no eggs, the mushrooms were sweet and the restaurant had run out of butter. It wasn't clear how to get into the breakfast area (no signposted doors) and when we did enter it wasn't clear whether we could seat ourselves or whether we had to check in with a staff member (there were none to be seen). I don't expect to see staff sitting on the counter of the front desk. We had a ground floor room which was fairly close to the garden area and as it was warm we had the window open - lots of kids playing quite early in the morning woke us up. The signs for delegates - we were guests not delegates; I appreciate that your weekday trade is probably delegates but labelling like this does not make weekend / non-business guests feel very welcome. I am an academic whose speciality is linguistics and the name you give something / someone really matters. I suspect that the "delegate" labelling will put off some visitors because it implies that your hotel is only for business visitors. You have a stunning building in a fabulous location with some great facilities and spaces so I was really surprised that there weren't more guests and / or there wasn't a wedding or two in progress (though I have to say that I wouldn't choose somewhere with "conference" in its name as my wedding venue if I were a bride to be).

The room was small but pretty well appointed (tea/coffee making, hairdryer, etc). The mattress was comfortable. The room was very clean. Staff were mostly helpful. Lovely location - very convenient to visit friends who live in Cookham. Good price The older part of the building is stunning. Lovely lawn area. Plenty of parking. Tables cleared quickly in the breakfast area

On arrival unable to access reception. Eventually accessed reception but no one available and no signage for assistance. No daytime or evening food available at weekends. Hoping to have relaxing afternoon in beautiful grounds, instead had to walk around the locality (which is lovely) to hunt out a meal, lots of gastropubs with expensive meals. No local grocery shop available. Room was small. Mould present around shower base. Room was too hot, no aircon. Check out is early. at ten, especially as breakfast also ended at ten so no relaxing morning. Numerous breakfast items gone when we arrived at 9:30, not being replenished. Gym needed reception approval, couldnt even look inside without that.

The buildings and grounds were delightful. Extensive parking. The local area is quaint but expensive for meals out. Allowed into room well before check in time.

Accommodation as part of a wider business complex. Some lovely old buildings and the grounds were lovely. Nice quiet location. The small double room was v small but perfectly functional (a bit like a travelodge but smaller and quieter). Tea and coffee making facilities in room. Nice big shower with lovely toiletries. Breakfast was excellent - all that you could want.
