Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOur room was cold, we couldn't get any heat from the radiators and there were draughts from both windows. We were in bed by 9.15pm to keep warm. We probably should have mentioned the problem to reception.
The location was first class and so too were the staff. The restaurant menu was small but the food was excellent..

Super impressed by the breakfast first of all, which represented amazing value for money. The room was good, the grounds are nice, and i used the pool and sauna which were both good.

United KingdomSpa changing room floors, very dirty and wet, dangerous under foot. Most areas in need of some tender loving care. In the Huntley restaurant noticed a piece of the dado rail which was hundreds of years old had been broken and then put back with nails hammered into it, what a shame. Towels for spa in rooms, we left in the changing room then went back next day and requested for some new ones but told had to hire as should have kept the original for full stay, did think this was a bit harsh
Nene Park a 2minute walk, a must one of the nicest places been too. Breakfast was very good, hot and tasty, good selection. The Huntley restaurant again good food, staff extremely nice. Spa good.

NetherlandsThe spa, it wasnt clean . Two day stay and not seen one single cleaner in that time in the spa while there was plenty to do! On monday a huge lump of hair was stuck to the wall in the steam room , and you guessed it … on Tuesday it was still there. Bet if i go look now its still there and all! Call me spoiled but you think a space where that much bodily fluids occur would be cleaned … more then once a day. Furthermore there was sand and rocks in the jacuzzi and many small repairs that weren’t maintained and even the cushions on the furniture that seen better days too needed to go in the bin as they so old and stained. all this is giving the spa a dirty and badly maintained vibe instead of something that resembles luxury or comfort.
De location was beautiful and even though it was dated the hotel room was clean and the staff was nice.

United KingdomThis isn't a dislike, just an observation: The hotel in general could do with a bit of decorating but it is an old building so not so easy.
The room was spacious and the 4 poster bed very comfortable. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over. There was a very effective fan in the room which was a great relief because it was very hot on the top floor of the hotel. Good choice at breakfast and, though a buffet, was actually hot. There is plenty of places to sit outside in lovely surroundings.

United KingdomThe room was slightly smaller than we were expecting and our view was of a wall so made our room a little dark, but it didn’t affect our stay.
The spa/pool facilities were brilliant, a great addition to our stay. The gym was lacking but didn’t affect us. Our room was very comfortable, bathroom was clean and modern. The hotel was clean and had lots of spaces to relax outside of your room. Whilst we didn’t eat in the hotel, family members did and they raved about the food. We ate at the Ramblewood Arms next door twice and were very impressed with the food. Breakfast was good value for money.

United KingdomWe had two main issues during our stay that unfortunately impacted our overall experience: On our first night, we used the spa towels and left them in the shower, as instructed on the notice in the room—stating that housekeeping would replace any towels left on the floor. However, when we returned to the room later that evening to prepare for our spa treatment, we were surprised to find the used towels placed back on the toilet seat rather than replaced. This was disappointing, especially since we had paid extra for the spa towels. Also, placing towels on the toilet seat, even if they were clean felt quite inappropriate. I had specifically requested a dog-friendly room when booking through Booking.com, and we arrived with our dog as expected. During check-in, two staff members at reception made no mention of any additional charges or room concerns, and simply handed us our key. However, during check-out, I was told there was an extra charge for the dog, and that we had not been placed in a dog-friendly room. I found this frustrating, as we were not trying to hide the fact we had a dog. Our dog was with us at check-in. I was also told I should have read the hotel’s T&Cs on their website, since Booking.com didn't clarify the policy?! Everything was clearly outlined on Booking.com, except the pet policy, which is oddly missing. Apparently, if you're placed in a designated dog-friendly room, there’s no charge, but if the hotel assigns you a non-dog-friendly room, even without telling you, they then charge extra. This feels unfair, especially as the room was chosen by the hotel, not us. I was ready to rate our stay a 9, but unfortunately, the check-out experience left a bad impression. We’re always happy to pay for our dog when required, but not under confusing and unclear conditions like this.
We stayed for three nights and had a lovely experience. The room was clean and tidy, and the breakfast room provided a pleasant start to our day with a nice selection. The bar area was also a great spot to unwind in the evenings. The spa area was especially relaxing. I'd highly recommend visiting in the evening if you'd prefer a quieter atmosphere without children around. Staff across the spa, breakfast, dining, and bar areas were all exceptionally kind and welcoming, which really made our stay even more enjoyable.
