How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The cooked buffet breakfast isn't great. Eggs were rubbery and powdery, sausages are cheap but it is included in the price I paid so we had it.
Room was perfect, for one night. We needed a place to stay after a concert in town. We had one room with one double and one single bed. Good sized bathroom. Perfect for what we needed. The staff were lovely and friendly.

The carpets around the hotel looked like they hadn't been cleaned which made it feel like the rest of the hotel was dirty when it wasn't

Pool changing is a little dated but I had the pool to myself! Only one useable plus outlet in my room was annoying.

Our budget room needed a new carpet and a larger TV Otherwise very comfortable and clean. A hair drier would have been a bonus. A little outdated could do with a freshen up and updating.
All Staff were welcoming and went out of their way to assist your needs . Very comfortable and relaxing hotel. Hospitality was amazing and personal to each guest. Would recommend to friends and family.

If I was being picky it’s just a bit old fashioned however for the price it’s very good value for money.
The price was great and for what you get it’s great value for money. The pool is good for kids and it’s in a good location for all that you want in Falmouth. Family room was big and spacious. It’s a little old fashioned but I kind of expected that. Breakfast was great and the kids loved all the options.

Uncomfortable mattress. My husband slept on the armchair instead and was in pain. No vegan options available for dinner. Takeaway food is not allowed in the rooms. You will be fined if they find evidence of it so if you have a dietary restriction it looks like you’ll be eating elsewhere. No period products available from reception for residents who menstruate. Decor could do with being updated.
Brilliant room sizes. Clean and well maintained throughout. Divider between kid’s bunk beds and the rest of the room. Extensive outdoor grounds to explore. Vegan sausages available for breakfast. Friendly staff. Good leisure facilities - pool, sauna, jacuzzi and a small gym. Resident’s lounge.

Had a problem with my bed not being very comfortable, told reception and I was moved to another room which was much better.

No matter how much work has gone into the accessibility of the property its still sometimes difficult to navigate with a wheelchair.
The restaurants quality of food is astounding and the range of food is excellent too. The member of staff, Will made our stay that little bit more special, wouldn't be the same without him and the pool even though not very accessible is a lovely place to relax.

Lovely old fashioned hotel, very spacious. Second time we have stayed. Food lovely as always. Only down side was that the bar/restaurant had “run out” of Chardonnay the day before!

Comfortable but rather dated around the edges. Had a rather faded glory feel about it but with some charm. Room was super warm (hot) on arrival with two additional heaters on full blast for no obvious reason, shower looked pretty old but brilliant water pressure and really hot water. You would need binoculars to be able to watch telly in bed in our room.

No one to play the Grand Piano for diners.
Great charm. Good parking and access arrangements. Helpful, efficient and personable staff. Really superb food. Five star! Excellent facilities in restaurant, lounge and the Spa/pool facilities.
