Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe window did not lock, the bathroom doorknob was slightly hanging off the door, and therefore the bathroom didn't lock.
Beds were very thick and comfortable. I liked the little soap bars. Staff were very funny.

United KingdomPlace was shabby. Not as clean as it should be. Weird smell. Shower didn't get hot enough. No toiletries. Only one small towel. Black hairs on the bed linen. Nothing matched. Very basic.
It was all just ok. Nothing special. Just a place to sleep and wash after a long day. Ok for the price.

AustraliaThe room was very tiny, with the absolutely smallest bathroom in all of England! The 4th floor room (#255) was not much fun to climb up and down each day.
Our stay did not start well when checking in we were told 'that our room was around the corner and 90m down the street'. and then to be confronted with 69 steps to reach our 4th floor twin room...... at least the beds and pillows were pretty reasonable. Not a lot of space in the room, but still more expensive than we should have had to pay.

United KingdomI didn't like having to walk to a separate building from the reception to my room, there are no lift services, stairs are a bit creaky, the walls in the room seem to suffer from damp, there is dust on the luggage/ clothes hanger area, the room(s) could do with a refurbishment as it is old and dusty, the shower toilet is small and needs refurb to get rid of rusted curtain rod/ hooks
The price of the room was great, it had good door lock, I was very fortunate have the oil heater in my room, it had a hairdryer which came in handy, clean bed linen and towels, great location near restaurants

United KingdomIf you are a single woman travelling don’t check in late like after theatre. Arrived 11 pm- I was located not at 106 but at no 94 round the corner. On the front door step to hotel was a woman shooting up heroin. I was scared. The bedroom doors don’t have proper locks on- just simple Yale locks. Breakfast is until 09.15. I kid you not at 09.16 the staff were hovering noisily around you!! Better training of staff needed. I told the receptionist all my feedback- he did not seem to care. Oh & I found a pair of male pants on middle of staircase as I came down from room to breakfast at 08.30!

AustraliaOur room was located on the 4th floor at the top of very narrow, carpeted stairs, and there are no elevators. Property is dated. Bathroom and bedding felt like being in a mobile home.
Basic budget accommodation. Fine for a place to sleep and change. We spent minimal time here. Parking is available for £15 a day.

Saudi ArabiaMy very small room is not located on the same building. Seymour is where you checkin only. Actual room is located at another building on same block just several steps away. No lift, you need to climb steep stairs with narrow steps. My room has another door before you can open it. No AC only fan. Toilet is same size as plane lavatory, they just added additional space for the shower. Doesnt suit big guys. Walls are thin i can hear other people snore from another room. Wooden floors can bother other guest below or above you. Dated carpet, bed is sufficient for sleeping. Although i got email saying they’l try to accommodate early checkin, reception guy told me i can only checkin at exactly 2pm. Bad if you had 15hrs travel time like me, i need to stay at nearby Hyde park to kill time.
Location is 5mins walk from Paddington Station. 5mins walk from Hyde Park.

United KingdomTiny bathroom (when sat on the toilet, you have one foot in the shower and the other under the sink). Even though we had 3 in our party, we were given a room with a double bed and 3 singles squeezed in to it. Only just enough space to walk between the beds. The window didn’t lock. In desperate need of an update as it wasn’t far off walking in to your grans caravan that she’s had sitting in her driveway since the 70s. On arrival, we also had to pay an additional £15 to park on site overnight
Very central so easily accessible by car or by foot. Simple check in. Cheap for the area
