Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The overbooking from Booking.com
I can't actually rate this accommodation properly because I didn't stay more than a wait in the lounge which was comfy and warm. Due to a overbooking from Booking.com there was no room available to stay, but the manager's attention (Gary) was exceptionally professional. He got a new place for us to stay, took us by car to it and completed our check in a excellent hotel and location too. We were really grateful to the way he acted. Many thanks Gary, you made the difference because we were very tired and despite the situation, you didn't let us down. What you did was truly appreciated!

The room was a little tired and the bathroom was a bit small. Can't really complain for the price we paid.
The host was very friendly and fulfilled all the requests we had. Situated quite close to the town and seafront.

Limited breakfast choices. Room was not 'serviced'. Towels were worn and were poor quality.
Good location, quiet yet close to Harbour and Marina. Breakfast was hearty. Bed was clean and comfortable.

Being a Georgian property, the house has a lot of stairs (fine if you’re fit, which they checked with me in advance) and a few issues with some alarming-looking electrics! But it all works — from power shower to TV and excellent Wi-Fi.
An interesting historic building — quite a warren inside! — very well located high up on the well-to-do side of town, with a lovely scenic walk along the seafront and downhill to the centre. Great breakfasts and friendly staff too.

The bathroom was tiny and there was nowhere to put or hang anything other than one small inadequate towel rail. The cord on the electric jug didn't reach the power point. we had to move the table over so that it would reach then couldn't access the wardrobe. The rubbish bin was too small. Breakfast on the second morning was cold as the cook has pre-empted our order and cooked the food ahead of time, but didn't re-heat it.
we had a lovely room with a view out over the tennis courts to the sea. we could walk down town in 10 minutes.

The bed was a bit bouncy. The room needs a deep clean. Everything seemed a bit shabby, and the ceiling looked like it was about to collapse.
Rooms very tired. 🫣 The breakfast was good value for money. The staff were very friendly ❤️

I have always liked simple things and don't expect a lot more than what I received for the price However, maybe the electrics need checking out as there was a strange sound when I tried to use the tv for a second time and it didn't work. It had previously. But otherwise, it was fine for the price.No complaints otherwise.
Did not have breakfast but the room was adequate for one night. Could smell the breakfast though, which made me regret not having it! The location did what is said on the tin and was pretty central. The lounge looked comfortable enough as well though I didn't try it out .

One or two problems with the room services and fittings - the shower heat control was not working properly and there was no socket for the electric kettle. Also the wc seat became loose
The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We were ungraded to a room with a small balcony and superb sea view and the breakfast was very good indeed. The room and common parts were very clean and tidy. The location is superb with great access to the sae front and the town centre
