We liked the rooms and the food was very good. No water in room or extra toilet rolls. Staff a little unhappy but not rude. Our rooms were not cleaned and it was not mentioned when we returned from our first day. My brother in law mentioned it and they kindly gave us a good discount which was very kind. A few smiles from the staff and a few tiny extra details and it would be excellent.

Nothing to complain about. But when we ordered a pot of tea at the bar they could not offer a piece o cake or even a biscuit. Probably good for us! The bacon at breakfast was very salty.

Greeted by the manager who took or cases up. Dinner menu good pub food with very obliging young men in attendance. Good room modern with very good bathroom. Breakfast was very good. Prompt and efficient service

I think they could have had English sparkling wine in stock by default, however, Chris very kindly brought some in for the second night. I would have preferred a bath, but the shower was a very good second best.

The staff were great, especially Chris. The English breakfast was fantastic, very generous portions. The fish and chips were delicious too. The room was enchanting.

Extraordinarily expensive. Paid more for this night than for any other night of my trip, including Palma de Mallorca, Port de Pollença, Edinburgh, London and many other stops in between. Not sure why. Although the property is lovely, I would say they should knock about £100 off the room rate!

    Gorgeous building. Very comfortable room.

All good. Ideally a slightly bigger room, but fine for us

Really liked the staff, the breakfast and evening meal. The Room itself was pretty tight (small) for 2 adults, but fine for a few nights exploring the area. Really nice shower, TV positioned well, bedside table lamps, a kettle and fresh milk as well as a portable air con unit made the stay very comfortable

Restricted room ventilation on a warm night. Air conditioning unit / fan were provided but lighter bedding and better ventilation would be preferable (and more sustainable).

Convenience for our planned activities in the area.

A couple of small gripes, particularly given the cost. Not having bottled water in the room loses it a point. The shower cubicle was tiny and with no shelf to put anything on, made it a challenge to keep bending down for toiletries.

Overall, very pleasant. The staff were wonderful, great food and a good location.

Appreciated that it is a historic building which makes things difficult but the ensuite was tiny especially the shower, that did not have anywhere to put shower gel etc.

Only a minor thing, but would have liked milk in the bedroom, there was a sign saying to request it, but that would have meant a trip downstairs and having just arrived feeling tired, this seemed a faff, similarly the next morning. I know this would have meant UHT milk but having an option would have been helpful.

Really great location, right in the centre of Petworth. Staff were very welcoming.

The mattress on the bed needed turning over as there were small two depressions from continuous use.

The room was small. Ok for a couple of nights but lacked coat hooks or a chair of any sort. There was a very tiny hanging cupboard which once you put coats in there was no room for anything else. Half of the tiny cupboard was taken up by 2 bulky robes and an ironing board, not really necessary items. The tea and coffee making stuff was on top of a chest drawers leaving no room for anything else. The bed had 4 big scatter cushions, nice but they ended up on the floor, taking up more space.

Staff friendly and helpful. Handy parking. Dinner & breakfast were nice, limited choice but a quiet time of year so understandable. The centre of the village is easily accessible.

    Happy with everything.

Loved having breakfast by the Inglenook fireplace, so cosy and warm on a very cold time of year. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The room welcoming and cosy and had what we needed. In the centre of Petworth with everything on it's doorstep.

Thought price was to high for room and breakfast . Extremely disappointed with Sunday lunch , no vegan gravy. Display of breakfast most uninviting. Cooked breakfast good . I just personally felt the place should be called Angel Restaurant. One room downstairs near bar would be fabulous if you made it a lounge area . It's just tables chairs everywhere. You can't even sit at the bar . Definitely a Restaurant. Such a shame . Needs more though and love for the building.

Loved the building and room we had was lovely. Fabulous situation.

We paid for a larger room as we had our dog with us but both the room and bathroom were still a bit cramped, though acceptable for a short stay.

Very friendly staff. Comfortable room, though not “luxurious” as implied by some of the blurb. We didn’t have to pay extra for our dog which was good as many places charge quite a bit for no real reason.
