Only one problem was that the details for accessing the key were unavailable since we did not have access to I'net the day before arrival. If the key details were available a few days before, no problem. So we were stuck outside with no access. Fortunately the lady in the hairdresser's next door managed to contact the owner and so we had access. This had apparently happened before with visitors but easily rectified by giving the key details out sooner.

The room was not the room advertised on Booking.com. The photos shown a kitchen area which wasn’t in our room. The sink was so tiny, water ended up all over the floor. The chandelier was broken and only had one bulb working. The other bulb flashed constantly. The towel rail wasn’t working so the towels weren’t drying. The owner was so lovely, we didn’t have the heart to tell him how we felt but we did explain to the girl on duty why we were leaving one night earlier than we booked. Overall the reviews we read didn’t really match up to our experience here but I must stress that all of the staff were super helpful.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. You get 15% off the food if you eat there.

Unfortunately we had to stay on one of the nights that the restaurant and bar were closed so we didn't get to try the food that we had heard so many good things about.

Room 1 was good value for money . It was clean and we slept well despite being off the main street.

I was not made aware that there was no staff for check-in, no details were provided. The property suffers from damp in the main stairwell. The basin in the bathroom is not suitable for face washing only hands. The TV was not tuned, i had to use WiFi.

The room itself was pleasant and location opposite the school I was surveying was great.

Nowhere to rinse cups out after use - bathroom sink much too small and cups were cracked. No handrail on stairs- very difficult for us OAPs to get up! Instructions for accessing rooms not sent - daughter had to phone when we were nearly there Contact number on booking confirmation was number of previous employee!

Someone in at 7.15 on a Sunday morning cleaning, banging doors, hoovering. The dust in the bedroom wasn't pleasant above the bed, it's like a half wall/shelf.

Lovely little place, staff were lovely that I met. Bedding was lovely and clean. Towels amd mini toiletries included.

For Easter my son have a joy to have a Easter hunt in hotel room, it was big surprise for him to found so many chocolate. It is very nice that the hotel staff thinks about such things, you can see their care for guests.

Musty smell in the stairwell. Layout of the room wasnt good. The tv was opposite childs bed and once he was sleeping we couldn't watch tv. If the sofa and single bed were swapped it would have been better. A small fridge would also have been helpful.
