The only thing we’d change was that with a dog you have to eat in the lounge area. This is fine apart from that the tables are at coffee table height. So either you eat really bent over or you have to put your plates on a cushion on your lap like a TV dinner. Given you pay the same as eating in the restaurant this could be better. Just a few tables at a decent height would fix it.

Loved the location. Came for the Fred Whitton Cycling challenge which started a couple of hundred meters down the road. Also perfect for seeing Dove Cottage (2 mins) and walks from the Daffodil around the Lake. Very comfy beds. Quiet at night. Mainly really friendly staff, especially Alex who went above and beyond for our dog (sausages just for her at breakfast!). The grounds were lovely. Didn’t experience the spa as we had the dog with us.

We were staying Mon - Fri and having our dinner in hotel. On the Wednesday night the menu was changed reducing the choice of main courses to 4, with no fish. If you are only staying one or at most two nights this may be OK but if staying longer is very limiting. Whilst the quality of all the dishes we had was excellent, for a hotel of this quality I feel the choice available let them down. However, this would not deter us from returning

Our room was large, actually a suite, with lovely view out over the lake, bathroom very clean with both a bath and a walk in shower.

One receptionist was very unhelpful and appeared uninterested in providing a good first impression. Fortunately the restaurant staff made up for this lapse.

The outside space by the lake is gorgeous on a sunny day. The staff at the hotel, in particular the receptionist, were so helpful throughout our stay and really went over and above to be helpful. Thank you and would really recommend.

I didn’t like the bed, sadly, I found it rather uncomfortable… especially given the price.

Room 323 was the furthest away from all hotel services ! We did ask to be moved but we would have still been on the road side which is quite busy.

The restaurant in the evening was a bit pricey, but the food was still good.

It had a beautiful location, the staff was very nice, and the breakfast that was included in our stay was amazing. it kept us feeling full until past lunchtime.

Super hotel, very clean and spacious rooms! Enjoyed the pool! The terrace and gardens are so lovely and look out on to the Lake! Food was super as were all the staff! Nice stroll into Grasmere from here! Would highly recommend a stay here!

The rooms were lovely, spacious and clean! We went for a friends trip to have a relaxing break and the location was perfect, we could easily enjoy plenty of beautiful walks and we’re right on the edge of the village for pottering about and grabbing some food
