The tiles/shower tray in Empire could do with re grouting/new silicone but that's just aesthetics. Delicious puddings but a cheese board to share to go with wine would be lovely addition.

There was a little noise from the pub and other guests, but it really wasn't a problem.

The room was really clean and well equipped, the service was really wonderful. We particularly appreciated the effort made to accommodate a guest with coeliac.

Great location, rooms are spotless, tastefully decorated and very comfy bed! The extra touches make it even more special. Food is superb, staff are very engaging and nothing is too much trouble. Great bar and restaurant.

Lovely traditional country pub with very nice rooms with all facilities. Good shower, Tea&Coffee making facilities. The pub does a good variety of food and drinks at correct prices. Fantastic walks from the front door

Situated in a quiet village but not far from Canterbury. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Food, especially the steak pie was great. We hit the place on quiz night and it was amazingly busy for such a small village

Noise coming from below although it's a very old building so is to be expected. It didn't carry on late ancient bother us.

Loved everything - no complaints !

Everything - in a pretty village. Lovely staff and rooms were comfy and very clean - there was everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and there was a lovely coffee machine in the room ! The food coming out to diners looked amazing too

The WiFi was so bad we couldn’t even listen to bbc sounds for the news. This was the only downside. Also the rooms at the front are above the bar so if it was a busy or loud night that could be an issue. Ask for back rooms if your staying over a weekend xx

The staff greeted us so enthusiastically. The rooms were beautiful in a wonderful Kent village. We had our dog which was no problem at all. The food was exceptional xx

Very hot in room and unable to leave door to terrace open because of our dog getting out.

Really relaxed, exceptionally dog friendly. Great staff- friendly and helpful. Extra touches in room were really appreciated. Great food both in the pub and at breakfast. Perfect location for visiting around Kent and lots of great walks from the pub.

The front two rooms are above the bar and a little noisy but not a problem as the bar closes after 11 - ear plugs provided if needed but we didn’t!

Adam and the rest of the Duke team made us and our dogs very welcome - the dogs were also allowed in the restaurant. Very cosy hotel and great food.

Staff so friendly and couldn’t be more accommodating. Lovely country pub. Singer was great. And dog friendly a perfect short break away and excellent value for money! Breakfast was also excellent!

There was no absolutely no sound insulation in our room and so can very vividly hear everyone below. However, the pub was dead quiet after closing time, which combined nicely with a comfortable bed (and port) to result in a very good night’s sleep.

This represents one of the best examples of pubs. Wide selection of booze, local ales, fantastic food made by a chef who cares, not pre-made nor microwaved. The rooms were cosy, clean and well equipped. Complementary and generous portion of port was a great touch made even greater by its superb taste! The only thing warmer than the staff is the log wood fireplace in the entrance!
