Main bathroom smelled of urine when we first arrived. The beds were not particularly comfortable, the mattresses could do with being renewed. There was only one small wire waste paper basket in the kitchen, and one in the bathroom, needed proper kitchen bin and small bins in the bedrooms. No side tables in the lounge. Grill didn’t work well. With 6 people needed more than 1 teapot.

On arrival half an hour after we were expected to arrive we couldn't access the lodge as they didn't have a note to say it had been cleaned. They then gave us the keys and on entering we found out it probably still hadn't been. There was a used teabag on kitchen floor, toothpaste on sink in main bathroom, hairs on the toilet and shower, some sort of gunky caramel looking thing on throw in the room with en suite, food still on table on decking and the oven tray was full of burnt on food. It was a shame as the lodge was beautiful just quite obviously not cleaned properly at all. The washing up liquid was also empty which meant we had to purchase our own to be able to actually clean before we used things.

Beds were very comfortable, lodge itself was beautiful, staff were friendly although didn't have much interaction with them just due to not needing them.

We had to pick up litter around the lodge and used towels which had been left outside on the decking. It would have been handy if there had been a long handled brush and hoover to keep the lodge tidy. We also had to wash a couple of the dishes before we could use them

The location was good - nice peaceful area. Plenty of space.

Only criticism was the supposed lake in front of the accommodation was unfortunately a massive hole with very little water so not very pretty to look at but understandable with the little rain we have had

The noise on the Friday night until 6:30 in the morning was very unacceptable. I had emailed a request for late check out and I didn’t receive an email back to state I would have to ring to arrange this so I thought this had been actioned but haven’t.

The lodge and hot tub were excellent, the food at the on site restaurant was lovely.

The hot water went which meant we couldn’t get a shower one morning, however it was swiftly sorted out.

It was a beautiful, spacious lodge and the hot tub was divine! It looked out on to a little lake which was nice as we didn’t feel too overlooked.

There needed to be hooks in the bathrooms for towels. Blackout curtains in the bedroom would have been better. The lake was not very nice to look at as it was partially drained. Privacy screen on the balcony round the hot tub would have been nice too. (These are just improvement suggestions not criticisms)

Beautiful lodge with hot tub, exceptionally clean and well maintained. Equipped with everything you would need for a short or long break.

Dirty underwear in the drawer left by people before us and the glass shower screen was disgusting, lots of grime along the bottom of the screen

We had no major concerns either with the sight or the Lodge

The onsight restaurant was excellent. Hot pool was lovely and a problem we had with it was solved very quickly by friendly helpful staff. Nice base to see Yorkshire.

The lodge was in a very bad state of disrepair. No maintenance had been done. The central heating didn’t work, the grill didn’t work, carpet was loose which my elderly father in law tripped on, skirting boards were coming away, the seating area outside was unusable as it was green from the over hanging trees. Very disappointed. We have stayed I at this park numerous times and this was the first time we were unhappy. The park were fabulous and moved us into one of their own lodges (this one is a private owned lodge).

Always go to this park twice a year for the last 4-5 years and love it.

Hot tub had a layer of scum all the way round the tub. Cabins near by did not stick to the ‘quiet time’ and had loud music and arguing till gone 2am. One resident appeared to call ‘security’ at one point to get them to come sort out a cabin that was unruly.

Wi-Fi in the haven lodge isn’t the greatest but this didn’t affect our trip.

Me and my partner had a lovely long weekend stay here. Beautiful and peaceful place, will definitely be back!
