Location is great and the room was clean. The code to enter the house and the room is extremely handy so you don’t have to carry a key! Claire is responsive and available. The neighbourhood is quiet and the bed comfortable. Next time in Cambridge I will definitely stay at The Norna again!

1. My room was off the communal kitchen which meant that any noise in the kitchen woke me up. 2. My room was on the ground floor so I couldn't have natural light without allowing others to see me inside - a net curtain or similar would be helpful here 3. The front door and inner front door were often left ajar during my stay, compromising security, This is because if you just leave them to close on their own they do not latch. Please either improve the self-closing mechanisms or put notices on the doors requesting people to close them properly.

Room was clean and had facilities that I needed, apart from a place to lock up my bike .

Shower wasn’t the best pressure or easiest to maintain temperature. Room got a bit cold after a certain hour at night.

8 was Up two flights of quite steep stairs so would be awkward for family with small children or the infirm The bathroom entry pad was a bit temperamental.

It would have been better to have had the TV on the wall at the foot of the bed. The kettle lead is not long enough, had to boil the kettle on the floor.

Both rooms I have been in, including the upgraded much bigger one, have a very small toilet room. It’s weird how small and uncomfortable the shower/toilet room can be in such a big and comfy room. In particular the shower needs fixing (not even someone of 5feet height like me could wash her hair with that one), a pair of shelves and a pair of hooks could make a big difference for comfort, instead anything was very basic. The smaller room I booked would have been really uncomfortable for the 4 days I stayed (no wardrobe, hardly any walking space around the bed, only blinds at the window, no curtain, shower room with no shelves/hook…). Hall and stairs with a bad smell, require some ‘help’ too.

Claire, the host, has been promptly responding to my messages, offering an upgraded room as soon as I communicated some issues with the room I initially checked in. The entire place is conveniently keyless, it offers luggage storage if arriving early, a small fridge and microwave in the shared kitchen, both very handy. Good position near the station and bus stop, half an hour walk from city center.

Unfortunately we didn't get a great night sleep due to a continuous beeping in the hallway which we could hear until nearly midnight and then there was no hot water for a shower in the morning.

The towels are thin, hard and fraying. Bedding similarly old, pillows not good. It's all perfectly clean but the linen and towels should be better for the price of the room.

The apartment has a good location and very close to the railway station, and very easy to find.

Door access was tricky. The door needed to be pulled then pushed in order to get the outer door to open, which took a bit of trial and error. The bathroom was really tiny with a high step to enter it, but it was functional. It was difficult to get dressed in the bathroom due to the small size. Luggage storage after checkout was an issue. I tried to contact the Norna team through the Booking.com app to pre-arrange storage of our luggage but got no response even though I messaged more than 24hrs beforehand. The lack of storage messed with our last day in town.

Easy access to the train station and buses, 20 minute walk into the centre of town, comfortable beds.

The room was quite hot so maybe a fan to be on offer as the sun does hit that room quite abit during the day. It was a squeeze in the bathroom and the shower head could only stay at the bottom as the part to tighten it onto the pole wouldn't work so washing my hair was abit awkward. Also the fan in the bathroom wasn't working when we stayed.

I loved the decor of the room, it was lovely and clean and in a great location. It had nice set up of teas, coffees etc on the side also and the bed was very comfy, had a great sleep.

The heater needs to be controlled in the room. I was cold and couldn't help myself increase the heat. The issue of washing needs to be considered. Staying for days without washing wasn't a good experience for me
