As the property is situated in the main high street it was noisy with passing traffic. So we didn’t get a full nights sleep but it was only for two nights so it was ok.

Excellent location, clean and the food was excellent. The staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Next door to a church, the pub can’t help that but if you don’t want to be woken by the bells constantly from 8am Sunday when you’re hungover it’s not ideal. Some snags - but staff were helpful promptly. Parts of room slightly shabby (but clean)- cracked mirror, ripped net curtains,, limescale in the kettle, stained bed runner and plaster dust from a repair in the shower over the toiletries on the wall.

Friendly staff. Great breakfasts. Room clean. Lovely pub.

Beautiful hotel and locations. Room was spacious, massive bed and loved the bath! My only complaint would be the check in and out times, we felt rushed getting out for 10.

No designated car park, however we were aware before we booked. On the weekend a nearby car park is free luckily, and even more lucky we did manage to park outside but it's a risk.

The rooms were cozy, clean, and comfortable. We loved the area, although with the rainy weather it was less pleasant than we had hoped. The breakfast was quite nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Volume of piped music from the bar below too loud and didn't finish until after midnight not conjusive to a restful night's sleep.

The only improvement would have been a newer better quality duvet and pillows as they felt cheap compared to every thing else.

The room was very large and nicely decorated with tea and coffee facilities. The staff were incredibly helpful and a good breakfast was included. The location was excellent right in the centre of town.

There was a bit of noise from the pub until about 11/midnight and the road was a bit noisy. No parking on site was a bit of a pain if you're not local.

The room was large & the heating was on full, very nice on a cold winter's night. Very modern, needs some attention on the window sills. Bathroom was very large, modern and there was a excellent shower.

Very comfortable and spacious room, with a really good shower and comfy bed. Breakfast was great - good choices and tasty food. Staff were friendly. Also ate dinner there, which we also enjoyed.

When we checked in the heating wasn't working. The staff dealt with it and offered us compensation with no hesitation. The pub is great and the room was lovely.

Parking in this area is a nightmare but that's not the fault of the owner. Price increase is quite large over the years and can't seem to work out why it's such a large increase other then the inclusion of breakfast.

It would have been really great to have on site parking or an arrangement with a local car park for free parking.

It all went well. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast food was delicious. The bathroom was clean and everything worked.

There is no parking at this hotel which was a minor issue, though we were aware of this in advance. The rooms are not very soundproofed and there was quite a lot of traffic noise from the road. We were told breakfast started at 8am and as we needed an early start were there by 8.10 to find it all locked up and only a cleaner on the premises. She asked us to return at 8.30, when there was a manager to greet us. The manager made an excuse for breakfast not being open at 8am but gave us additional breakfast items to take away in recompense.

Our room was impressive, though being an old building the ceilings are low. The facilities were great and the bed very comfortable. Check in is in the pub and there is a separate entrance to the rooms.

The room and bathroom were decorated to a high standard and very spacious. Excellent fresh breakfast served. We also had dinner in the pub and enjoyed our meals. Harpenden is a lovely village with lots of nice shops and restaurants/pubs.
