Basic budget hotel but clean and staff very friendly.

The parking is difficult to find and currently (August 2025) there are road closures round the hotel which made things worse.

A budget hotel, so no frills and very basic. But it is clean and the staff very friendly. Great location in the centre of town and free parking too. If you want a low price and are happy with basic, this is the place for you.

The hotel in general needs some basic maintenance and tidying.

Ideal place to lay your head while visiting Sandringham. Mario was exceptionally attentive and polite. He was very helpful in answering any questions we had, Thank You Mario.

Uneven floor levels on stairs and floor in general.

That it was cheap and it’s close to the town centre and all the shops etc.

It’s a shame it has become so run down, it needs a good injection of money and restored to the beautiful hotel I’m sure it once was. The bar has been shut down (although you could bring your own drinks in your room). No food is offered.

Lovely old building with lots of character. Free parking on site. Situated in a very historic area with beautiful architecture buildings.

It’s a very very tired building/hotel. Very basic but we literally were there to sleep and move on

Convenient for us in town centre. Reception and manager were very helpful. Have their own car park at rear

Mostly everything TBH. Really needs update. Room up 3 flights of stairs...full of flies... admittedly it was a hot day so windows left open but it still wasn't nice.

Very reasonable price.. The gentleman at reception was pleasant.

Lack of recent investment from the current owners has seen the building start to fall in to a state of disrepair which is a real shame. Nothing majorly wrong with hotel just a bit tired. A real shame the owners have decided to close bar & restaurants as I’m certain this would start to help elevate the property back to the hotel it really deserves to be!

Beautiful old building, has bags of character and could be a stunning venue given the right investment. Secure parking area if you’re early enough to get a space! Very helpful chap greeted me on reception & shared a bit of history of the building.

The manager was rude and dismissive. The toilet also leaked, the towels provided were very small, the two pillows for the double bed were small and offered no support. The TV did not work. The bar and restaurant have been closed permanently.

The female receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. The building itself is incredible. The location couldn’t be better, and the free secure parking was a real bonus.

Nothing. We tour extensively round Europe and the UK so have an idea what we are talking about. We look for clean bedding, comfortable bed, clean room and a hot shower after our days riding. This was everything we needed plus tea making facilities. Looking at other people’s reviews what do you expect for £40. Exceptional value for money. Also situated in the town centre.

The history of the Hotel. We read up about the hotel and we found it a privilege to stay in such a historic building.

I struggled to find the car park, it was dark and maps takes you to the front of the building, which was all locked up, the car park is at the other side and not marked well if at all. Staff I felt were a bit off when I had to call and ask for help. I was a female travelling solo, wasn’t desperate to be walking around alone at night looking for the way in. The room was what I paid, not modern or spotless, but clean enough and I got my head down and slept ok. The one disturbing aspect overnight was the heat 🥴, this couldn’t be avoided really I guess but it was stifling on the top floor.

I like the price. Got parked in the carpark so that was a plus. The building was certainly interesting and had lots of character.
