How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The only thing letting it down is the dining area and some aspects of the breakfast. There are old, tired furnishings, it's all a bit dowdy looking. The cooked breakfast was good, it was just let down by the poor choice of cereals and no fruit or yogurts offered as stated on the menu. I did ask and was given a very nice fruit salad, but was told the yogurts weren't available.
Lovely location and a great sea view from my room. Plenty of parking. Spacious and clean room with a comfortable bed. Nice bathroom and shower. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

breakfast service, very slow one poor girl running her legs off. We were sat ages with no fruit. yoghurt or glasses for juice, and late checking out due to wait on ordering food.

Whilst you couldn’t call it dirty it was perturbing to find the previous guests towel on the back of the bathroom door. The rooms are just a bit dated and tired. Breakfast was in the bar area, food ok but the cutlery and tables weren’t that clean.
It was somewhere to stop the night.

The shower had a poor flow and temperature went from freezing to scolding. Kettle needs to be bigger as mugs were huge so could only fill one cup at a time. Need hooks in the bathroom for towels. Walls quite thin as could hear the neighbours conversations.
Had a sea view, breakfast freshly cooked to order and fish and chips were excellent.

The bed frame prevented my husband from being able to stretch his legs out, he's 6 foot 3, so he didn't sleep too well. Otherwise all was great!

What's not to like

The Wi-Fi didn’t work on a night time as my room was” to far away from the router” . In the morning it was working, too many people on the router …. The TV was fixed flat in the corner of the room. They advertised breakfast included, however it doesn’t start until 9 …. Nothing on the website said breakfast times. I paid for the breakfast but didn’t get any, they did offer to try and organise a packed breakfast , which I declined. And the room bin wasn’t emptied daily, by the end of the week I had an overflowing bin.
It’s location was perfect for where I was working for the week, out of the way in a village. The bed was very comfortable.

Nicola was very friendly and welcoming. We had one evening meal and two breakfasts, all of which were excellent. The room was clean, tidy and very comfortable with lots of space. We were travelling with two large dogs. The staff were all friendly and accommodating towards them and on Sunday morning they were even given a sausage for breakfast, which they loved!

Only small issue was the bed was a little firmer than I'm used to. Still slept okay though.
Staff were great, the location was lovely, and the room was clean & comfy. Breakfast was fantastic, I highly recommend the eggs bennidict.

Showers were adequate.
