Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere wasn't much to dislike, but I would probably have made breakfast a bit less chaotic. You could help yourself to plenty of juice, fruit salad, cereal, toast and croissant but for some reason you had to keep asking for tea. I think there could've easily been self-pour options to free up the staff. The cooked breakfast we chose was lovely. You won't go hungry.
We had the cosy room which I was worried the bed might be small, but it had plenty of room. Great powerful shower, plenty of room to get ready. Room was very calm and away from the restaurant. We were there during a wedding, but we only heard it at dinner.

United KingdomNot wanting to complain as we were upgraded the only downside on the room were quite a small bed and would have preferred a super king (suite are advertised as having super kings) and we were right next to the lift and that was more noisy than expected. The pigeon poo outside the entrance door into the room should have been cleaned away. The restaurant was a lovely space but felt that if you were going to eat there more than 1 night the menu was not varied enough.
We loved this stylish hotel, it was full of life and the interiors were lovely. The staff were very welcoming from reception to the restaurant. We were upgraded which was a treat to a junior suite. Lots of space. So centrally located and easy to get around the town to see all the sights. We would stay again.

United KingdomNothing!
Fantastic room in a lovely hotel! The location was excellent, the room (despite being a 'cosy' room) was spacious and had all the little extras you could want - including a cafetiere and ground coffee. The shower was huge and powerful and there was a smart TV with Netflix, Disney etc. There was also a fan in the room which we really appreciated as it was unseasonably warm and humid when we visited. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. We couldn't fault it

United KingdomWe loved the property, it was excellent, the staff were always helpful and friendly, amazing courtyard and spacious venue. Only thing we didn’t realise the radiator was behind the chair so a bit chilly when waking up and the mattress was very firm. That’s just preference though. We loved our stay so a big thank you to the team

United KingdomI didn’t like that there was an air of rudeness from some of the more monied older guests in the restaurant. It stank of entitlement. The staff handle them impeccably, but shouldn’t have to!
Our stay was wonderful. The George is beautiful, but what really made our stay extra special were the staff… Dave from Seville ;-) in the dining room and the guy from Tazmania made us feel super welcome. Service was impeccable and food was just lovely.

United Kingdomonly one person at reception , so when you are shown to your room the receptionist leaves his post and a cue builds. Very noisy room looking out over the high street. Better bread at breakfast needed (very cheap whole meal /white) , I felt the room we had was overpriced £315.00 very small , dimly lit , noisy .
Nice hotel friendly staff , comfortable bed .well situated . Best coffee machine I have ever used , was very worried when I was pointed to the coffee machine for my flat white but it was excellent perhaps not café Nero but not far off .Great granola and Greek yogurt.

United KingdomBed was very comfortable, and the room was heated very well (we could control the temperature). A bed and a bowl was made available for our little dog. Great choice for breakfast. Dinner met our expectations and we had a choice of a scallop menu as it was Rye Scallop week.
