Some of the furnishings in the rooms was a little dated and jaded but it was all very clean. The curtains were very light weight and as the weather was so good - the light poured into the room every morning waking us up very early ie 6am.......Other reviews moaned about the pool being cloudy and not clean - it was perfectly clean but again - it felt a little jaded.

Location was great for us - walking up the steep hill everytime we walked into Ramsbottom was good for us. The room was a good size and very clean. Shower not very powerful but plenty of hot water. Carpets a little jaded. Tea and coffee available. Breakfast was good and the staff were great allowing slight changes to the 'set' breakfast eg swopping beans for mushrooms etc. The pool and jacuzzi were a very welcome facility. Staff were fabulous

bedding, pillows need to be a better quality. Cotton curtains let in lots of light so black out curtains would be better. Smell issue in the bathroom from toilet pipes. No lift so this should be made clear when booking. if you are on the top floor you have to carry your luggage up flights of stairs. Breakfast on the first morning was obviously reheated and not freshly cooked, the other 2 morning were nice.

The hotel is a bit tired and old fashioned, it definitely needs refurbishing. Sauna was broken and changing rooms smelled bad.

Decor was a bit dated, and there was a bright light outside our window all night even with the curtains drawn. It kept me awake :(

We couldn’t sleep, the radiator started banging in the early hours and the heat was unbearable The swimming pool could do with a good scrub and so could the jacuzzi

It's not a criticism but the 'Old Mill' is old and in need of referbishment. However, the staff and their commitment to serve is second to none.

The room needed a bit of tlc, the carpet was old and stained and the walls were marked quite badly in places. The pool was very dirty, green on the brick work around the pool. Also the water was murky and green too.

The food was poor standards considering it was Fish & chips mushy peas the chips were refried and hard. I got a discount but it was poor standards

It needs a bit of a refurb - just some decorating would help. The cloudiness of the swimming pool - also the floor tiles were very slippery.

The location was excellent - we were there for a train gala. Very quiet and peaceful. Lovely garden with a stream at the front. I used the leisure centre pool - the water was cloudy, a bit off putting, but the jacuzzi was good. The staff were all lovely - very friendly and helpful

The rooms are definitely in need of a refresh. The electric shower lacked pressure but was usable. My only big issue was noise - noisy neighbours and when they stopped all you could hear was a constant humming - possibly hearing pipes or a refrigeration unit somewhere. In any case it was a little irritating. There’s a lot of potential though and I’d visit again!

Friendly staff on arrival. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. There were plenty of facilities available which were included in the cost. I think the hotel represents good value and it has a really nice setting too - Ramsbottom is lovely!

Ambiance in the dining room is very cold (lighting all cold led ceiling lights and unshaded wall lights. General feeling of a place past its best and in need of some tlc Shower control very tricky as flow very variable.
