New ZealandThe foyer is absolutely FREEZING ! The lovely decor is totally undermined by the shockingly cold environment. There is a heater over the main entrance which wasn’t on and apparently doesn’t work and there is no warmth at all in this area so check in was very unpleasant It spoils the whole experience on arrival - despite the beautiful living flame fire and seating area beside reception. Also the hotel pool area has been minimally updated in the last 10 years. Missing tiles in the pool have been filled with plaster that could have been done by a five year old. The showers need to be upgraded and the changing rooms refreshed as they are tired and depressing. These repairs are not costly and would make a huge difference

The furniture within the room was also a little tired and the wardrobe door was slightly broken but still operational. The pool hours for kids was a little restrictive especially when we tried to get for an early morning swim.
We liked the location and that there was a pool. Elaine on breakfast reception was memorable for her lovely bubbly, friendly and helpful personality. When the staff are happy it makes customers happy.

United KingdomTv was slightly out dated would be better to have a tv with some streaming services on it like Netflix etc. Shower seemed to be not working correctly, I was unable to change the flow of water and for some reason the water in the middle of the shower head was coming out like a tap and the water coming out the outer parts of the shower head were coming out in drops like rainfall which is obviously the correct way but it was coming out both ways simultaneously with no way of picking one or the other, on top of that the water in the middle was hot and the outer was cold, which wasn’t ideal but it was manageable. On the website it suggests the hotel does room service and it also says this on the phone and tv however there was no menu or way to see what to order, which I did message about to see if I could get one but there was no response. I am aware I probably could have went to reception to receive one but the whole point of room service is that I shouldn’t have to leave the room, plus by the time we got to reception it made more sense to just order the food and take it back ourselves, which we did. The last thing I would like to mention which is not the hotels fault of course but was the worst part of a good stay was that the people in the room upstairs were stomping about late into the night and you could hear every footstep as if an elephant was in the room above and was pacing up and down the room to tire itself out, so although the bed and room were amazing the sleep was not the best.
Great location, staff were really nice and helpful. Room was really nice and spacious with a good view. Would love to come back and try the spa facilities. Definitely more good things than bad about this place. Would recommend to others.
