Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOnce I had been booked in I never saw staff again. I wasn't asked about breakfast on booking in and went down to the dining room next morning to find it unoccupied an no sing of breakfast being served, which is a shame.
An older building. The room was large and had a good view of the garden area

United KingdomThe room we stayed in was nice but the bathroom was questionable. The sink tap had no hot water and leaked and the shower trickled or lost all pressure and was difficult to wash with, the tv lost all its channels and the following morning going down for breakfast we weren’t asked what we wanted but were told that two full English breakfast were coming, not what allergies or preferences we had (my husband is allergic to eggs and was provided a fried egg) which was disappointing considering the price we paid for breakfast.
Lovely area and close to city centre. Room was pokey but pleasant.

United KingdomVery small bathroom, the bed was quite hard and the decor is somewhat eccentric and tired. However, we were out most of the our stay so this is somewhat unimportant.
Bath is always a great place to visit. Very pleasant walk into town, about 20min. Lovely cafe in Bear Flats worth visiting, about a five min walk from the hotel. Antique market on Saturday if you like that sort of thing. Some splendid restaurants to visit. The room was clean.

United Kingdom(Feb 2025) Before you read this, please note, if you can cope with these minor things, you'll be fine. TBH, I'd go here again. Needs a few minor fixes to be 5 stars, eg: -Towel-rail in the bathroom starting to come off on one side. -Needed shelves to put toiletry bags on in bathroom-we put them on floor -Curtains not on properly-need extra hooks at top as missing (although did block out light). -Bathroom vent very dusty/skirting board needed light dust. Room not dusty or unclean, though. -Shower grout just needs re-doing in both our bathroom and apartment bathroom -There was mould on the ceiling of our bathroom-not alot, but it was there. Just needs venting/removing. Maybe put a sign up to users to use vent every time to stop re-occurance? -Radiator (top floor) in external apartment kept making noise unless turned off -Needed more crockery/cutlery/pans and some tea-towels/hand-towel in apartment kitchen. We bought crockery. -Shower door missing in apartment-assume they'll get round to this? -Shower dial in our room said opposite to (helpful) sign re: hot/cold-dial on the wrong way-just needs rectifying -Switch to turn off outdoor light to apartment-cat walked past several times in night! -Cooker light in apartment doesn't work-we didn't try the cooker itself-needs instructions? Microwave great. -Need toaster in apartment -Random bang at night every 2 mins from top floor room-we slept fine, but not sure what it is? -One of chairs in apartment slightly wobbly-still useable -Sink in bathroom (top floor) took ages to drain, and drained slowly even with plug in -Would be fab to see the swimming pool reinstated in Summer! As I say, personally I'd go here again, but just be aware of the above. I get the impression Danny was running it by himself. It's a huge building for one person, and he was doing a grand job.
1. Danny (owner) was friendly and often around in the mornings, but also gave us our space. 2. Comfy beds, quiet, great views, warm, TV, had hairdryer, toiletries, lots of brochures available re: local area, warm shower 3. Didn't try breakfast-we booked a room and our friends had the apartment out the back (ate there). 4. Lovely, classy wallpaper in rooms, and nice mirrors. Nice beds. 5. Lots of mirrors (2 in room and one in bathroom) 6. Kettle (works without taking a decade!) & tea/coffee/sugar in room 7. Able to adjust the heat via thermostat in room. 8. Bathroom not attached to room in our (solo) case, but was directly across the hall (like, 3 steps away), so no problems. 9. Sink in room also. 10. Bin in both bathroom and bedroom 11. Given a hand towel and bath towel each 12. Close and accessible to town/local shops/fish and chip shop/bus stops. Perfect location 13. Bench and table to sit outdoors and green space. 14. Right next to park/outdoor space for kids/dogs/relaxing 15.Extra blankets in small wardrobe-not that you'll need them (we went in cold period). 16. Free wifi-signs about with password. Good connection. No issue with phone signal/calls. 17. Sign you can see from road when you're not sure where you're going/where it is. 18. Free parking :)

AustraliaThe big issue for us was not having hot water, this significantly detracted from our experience staying here. We had been sightseeing and walking all day and were really in need of a shower to wash off the day. The other small details - like peeling wall paper and mold behind the bedside table would have been overlooked had we been able to enjoy a good hot shower. Please fix your hot water issues, as it seems to be a recurring criticism after reading some of your previous reviews.
The bed was comfortable and clean, the parking was free and convenient, and the bathroom was clean and updated. The gentleman that greeted us was friendly, polite and helpful.
