Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe first night, our food was excellent. The second, it was slow to come and rather disapointing. But that's about the only complaint. During the renovations, it'd be nice to see more play equpiment for children, it could use a bit of a refresh, but that's being very picky. Wish we could have stayed longer, looking forward to coming back when the renos are done.
Wonderful place to come as a family. The staff are lovely and warm and very helpful -- they absolutely made our visit perfect, and were so friendly and kind to our daughter. A gardener absolutely made her day by giving her a tour of trees and then remembering her the next day. Our room was massive, with a huge bathroom, and everything we needed for a toddler was supplied. The pool is beautiful, the changing rooms are clean. The gardens are gorgeous, even in early spring, and we spent most of our time just roaming around between fairy gardens and actual gardens. Really want to thank the restaurant staff for their assitance with my husband's coeliac requirements. Tony (apologies if we got your name wrong) had such perfect knowledge of the menu and could recommend everything that was gluten free and what subsititutions could be made. It may seem like a small thing, but it gave us such confidence that my husband could actually enjoy his meals risk free. Would recommend this hotel to anyone with allergen issues, they take it seriously and don't make you feel like a burden. I wish that wasn't so rare, but we really appreciated it. Can't wait to come back.

Great location, family-first setup, friendly and helpful staff. Loved the bunny’s, fairy garden, swimming pool and the Den. Oh the ducks were cute too and the Afternoon Tea was fantastic.

United KingdomNothing except it would have been nice to have a couple of really comfortable armchairs to relax in rather than have to sit on the bed. There were two chairs but more hall or upholstered dining chairs

United KingdomWe highly recommend this hotel if you're parents. We kept discovering more kid friendly/ kid centered activities the longer we walked around the grounds. Our little one was really sad to leave and repeatedly asked to stay longer or come back again. We had a great stay and made some amazing memories. Thank you to all the staff🌸🪻🌿

United KingdomWe stayed here for two nights to celebrate our anniversary. We loved having somewhere so child-friendly to go — we have a 3 year old and 6 month old. Our three year old loved! There are so many areas to play indoors and outdoors. The restaurant menu is awesome for kids (and adults) with toddler and bigger kid portion sizes. We arrived to each meal with colouring set up for our three year old, a toddler chair for her and a comfortable seat for the baby. Daniel, who checked us in on the first night, and Isla in the restaurant, were truly exceptional in their hospitality. We loved swimming in the indoor pool (managed to purchase swim nappies and arm bands) and our eldest had a great time at the Den both with us and then in a supervised session. It’s a beautiful building and we were even given a bigger room than anticipated. In the evening, we enjoyed sitting by the fire with the video baby monitor on, the rooms are close enough that you feel comfortable doing this!

United KingdomWe had a really great stay at Woolley Grange. Hotel is wonderful, especially as it was decorated ready for Xmas. Location is perfect for visiting Bath. Breakfast and evening dining are excellent, with very helpful staff. It's especially good for those with children and grand-children as the facilities are perfect for young families. Happy to recommend and will definitely be back.

United KingdomThe decor was a bit tired.
The friendly staff, and quirky decor made for a memorable stay. The hotel was clean, the bed comfortable and the food was good. It was a great place for families with young children, but there were quiet, comfortable lounges to relax in too.

Fine hotel with good public space and comfortable sofas, quiet rooms, excellent choice and quality of food, clever division of dining area between areas for those with and without young children, lovely pool and spa, private car parking, friendly staff generally very good and understanding with lively young noisy children.

United KingdomThe shower in our room was not good enough - struggled to get the hot water to come (there is a hack to get this done) and the flow was poor. The only criticism we have.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. All our requests were accommodated. The hotel is a beautiful old manor house which has kept a lot of its charm. It is set in beautiful surroundings with Jasmine smell drifting from the gardens into the building. Just gorgeous! It is a ten minute drive or half an hour walk to Bradford on Avon, which is very picturesque with many cafes, restaurants and little independent shops. Bonus points for a pod point charger on site!

IrelandSome of the food was quite expensive for what it was or the cabbage main course, very tasty but expensive considering the ingredients used, would have been more of a full meal with some carbs included on the side
Takes the stress out of travelling with a baby with everything you could possibly need at the hotel and restaurant. Pool was lovely. The treats, towels and beds for the dogs was such a lovely touch, as well as the toy for our baby, really adds to the whole experience.

United KingdomWe really enjoyed everything!
What an exceptional hotel. We were lucky to spend a very sunny weekend at Woolley so had access to the outdoor pool, gardens and all the games. We felt that there was everything we and our children (7&5) could have wished for. Tadpoles and newts in the pond, perfect weather for being outside and friendly staff.
