No hot water for showers in the mornings, a pretty fundamental and avoidable error - and surprising, given how hard the family work to make everything else perfect. Yiannis assured me there's 'always hot water', but it was hardly any better on our second day.

A gem of a hotel, situated on the slopes of Ataviros mountain, a good base to explore from. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated, with a comfy bed, fridge and balcony. Views of the mountain, garden and pool. The hotel is exceptionally clean, and there are many interesting paintings and photographs displayed. The garden is gorgeous, with a variety of plants and the scent of lemon flowers. The pool is immaculate and you can order food and drinks to be served there. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice considering it was early in the season.

Lovely location with beautiful views and sunset each evening. Friendly people and good food. Relaxing by the pool was the perfect way to recover from our walks in the hills. Embonas is really worth visiting.

Almost nothing, only we thought the matras in the room where we stayed was too soft for us. For the rest everything was super!

This is a small family run hotel with views over countryside and the distant sea. It has a nice swimming pool with bar and you can have meals either by the pool or upstairs. Rooms were kept clean. Janis was always on hand to help whenever needed.

Perfect spot in a tiny mountain town! Loved that this was family run and they were so kind and wonderful. The room was pretty basic but the bed was quite comfortable. The restaurant on site is fabulous.

Stunning hotel - really helpful and kind owners, good location if you have a car rented, nice relax zone close to the pool, well equipped bar, tasty breakfast. The village is located just between the mountains, creating really cool atmosphere. Giving less than 10 stars to the Ataviros Hotel would be a crime - totally reccomend. We stayed in September - everything in the village was open - a lot of restaurants, bars, markets with local products.

We had an excellent stay at Ataviros. Yiannis and his parents are very hospitable and ensured we had a lovely time staying with them. The pool area is excellent and incredible during sunset view. We loved staying in Embona and would definitely recommend it for anyone staying in Rhodes - the people are extremely friendly and it's great to try local wines and honey etc from the region. Also make sure you have dinner at the hotel, Yiannis' mother is an excellent cook! We will definitely be back ☺️

Wonderful place, beautiful landscape, easy to get to any object on the island by car. We were warmly welcomed, cherished in this family hotel. Delicious breakfast, the opportunity to enjoy meals prepared by the hosts over a live fire. If I visit this beautiful island again, I will definitely stay here.

I stayed 2 nights in Ataviros hotel and had a great time. The location in the mountains which are so beautiful and really worth seeing, the swimming pool, the sunsets from the hotel itself, the dinners cooked by the owner’s mum herself. A must stay to enjoy Rhodes differently.

Breakfast could be a bit more extras. But basically good. Bread, yoghurt cheese meat and cake etc. Some small local things. Tea.and coffee. Nice breakfast to start the day.

Great little family hotel in the mountains with gorgeous pool. The in-house restaurant serves homemade dishes which are absolutely delicious. The room was clean and modern, the owners very hardworking and welcoming people. They made our stay an unforgettable experience. I would love to come back one day...
