Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI honestly can think of nothing. We loved it.
We loved the location. Chania is very walkable and this was tucked in a nice quiet spot away from tourists, but truly only a minute or so from the action. The hosts were so helpful. We took several restaurant recommendations that were incredible. The breakfast assortment was a huge selling point and was always fresh. Having walked the entire area, we were so happy we booked this location.

CanadaThe location is great, very convenient for exploring old Chania. The breakfast is good with freshly squeezed orange juice and specialty coffees made to order. The style of the hotel gives the experience of staying in a traditional dwelling, but it is still comfortable. The staff were very helpful, suggesting options for eating and advising on taking local transit.

CyprusEverything was perfect!
I loved the exceptional location, the high ceiling fully renovated rooms with modern bathrooms and shower. The breakfast was amazing . The rooms were extremely clean. But I can’t praise enough the staff and their warm hospitality. Mrs. Argyro is a gem . Such a warm and kind hearted person . She made us feel at home. Mrs. Flora was the sweetest and most helpful host . They both went above and beyond to make sure our stay was not just comfortable, but truly memorable. Whether it was offering helpful local tips, assisting with special requests, or simply greeting us with genuine smiles each day, their hospitality made all the difference. It’s rare to find such a combination of professionalism and heartfelt care!! We couldn’t be happier with our stay in Chania and can’t wait to return.

The staff were extremely helpful and considerate. They gave us gifts for my wife’s birthday on their own initiative. So nice! Location in the old town is excellent with view of the harbour from the bedroom window but also very quiet at night.

United StatesKeep in mind that you will need to lug your suitcase over cobblestone streets to get to the hotel. Plan where your taxi will drop you off ahead of time because cars are not permitted in the historic old town. We were on the top floor in a loft like room and climbing the stairs to the room — and then again in the room was tiring. This would be very difficult for anyone with a mobility issue or anyone out of shape. Also, there are taxis available at a nearby plaza all day — that is something that we were not informed of initially.
Beautiful, historic property in the heart of Chania. Excellent breakfast and gorgeous furnishings.

AustraliaNothing for me, but if you have heavy suitcases and elderly it may be difficult to carry up the stairs but I'm sure the staff would help, they we awesome.
The friendly greeting on arrival. The turkish delight in the room. The breakfast was great and so was the conversation with staff who were working that day. The location was exceptional, a short few steps, literally to the many great places to eat....and shop!

United StatesThere are a LOT of stairs - not that this is a bad thing, they make it clear in the listing, but just know that both in the streets leading to the hotel and then once in the hotel there are lots and lots of stairs to climb. Wouldn’t advise for anyone with mobility issues.
This is a beautifully maintained historic building. They provided a very yummy welcome drink and candy upon arrival and helped us get our luggage up the many stairs. We had an early tour one morning and they packed breakfast boxes for us and lent us beach towels for our excursion. They also provided a map of town and marked some great locations to check out. The shower was really spacious and had great water pressure. The bed was very comfortable. The views of the harbor from the room were gorgeous.

United KingdomClimbing up 3 flights of stairs to my room, but it wasn't too strenous.
Great location and the staff were so friendly and helpful. They insisted on making us a breakfast bag when we had to leave early for a trip and the next day for our ferry. I would definitely stay again.

United KingdomThis hotel is set in the beautiful old town in a historic building. The ladies that run the hotel are lovely and are always there to help you with anything. The breakfast is fresh and plentiful. There are some cute little gifts they leave you too. The bed was so comfortable. A short walk to the beach of about 10 minutes is a lovely change of scenery to the old town. It was a lovely stay.
