Incredible location, really lovely houses and super friendly staff. They have bikes you can take out exploring. If you have a 4x4, drive to Agios Iannis, it’s a great drive. If you dont, they can arrange a lift.

Remember to bring a teabag/ coffee! All the facilities to make a cuppa but no actual tea/ coffee.

The staff and hotel was excellent, nothing too much trouble! It was our first few nights in crete and was so peaceful and calming. We had a great walk along the coast to the monastery after a lift down to the beach (€12 return). The food was traditional crete/ greek cuisine, which was perfect for us. I loved the moussaka! Our room was spectacular with private views over the sea.

We’ve loved everything

Amazing experience in the beautiful area. We’ve enjoyed every moment we stayed there. The hotel feels like a resort where you can truly rest. There is a restaurant with amazing view over the mountains and the sea. Breathing during the day and in the evening. The personel was really kind and helpful and we felt really taken care of. Thalori also offers a variety of different activities - we did a horse riding trip in the nearby mountains and this was really incredible. Highly recommend this place ❤️

The apartment wasn’t well equipped regarding kitchenware, but I advice to go to restaurant as the food was amazing, cheap and with massive portion. Probably not vegan/lactose intolerant friendly for breakfast though- they didn’t have dairy-free milk. I didn’t ask in advance though, so they might be able to accommodate your needs. I found extra service a bit pricey- the 4x4 to go to the beach was 12 euro each person

It’s a magical place. Just the sound of wind and sheep. It’s a really small village and people are friendly, the apartment view was a postcard. The pool was beautiful and mostly quite. Restaurant view is insane as well . We met Poppy and Giorgia as part of the staff and they were really helpful

We were traveling with another couple, and had booked a two room house. The first one we were given was down wind of the main building, where the wood stove is used throughout the day. One of our party has respiratory issues, so was having trouble with the smokiness. Once we told the owner, she moved us to another location that was actually two houses back to back that was not in the path of the smoke. She went above and beyond to make the situation better, and we were very grateful.

The location is stunning, and the accommodations are unique. The staff is wonderful, and made sure we were very comfortable during our stay. The infinity pool was a definite favorite.

- Kitchen in apartment very poorly quipped, no sharp knife or cutting board, only one pot, no pan - mattress is very hard and old spring mattress, would expect a better sleep for the price

Thalori Village is a very clever concept intergrating beautiful modern stone style appartements in a small mountain top authenic village, making you feel like part of the village and not an intruding tourist. Our room was spacious, modern and clean whilst respecting the Crete charm and the view is to die for. Thalori offers a beautiful swimming pool and other activity's such as horse riding etc... We ate everynight in the restaurant that serves delicious typical local dishes. Just one word of advise, If you visit the beach at the foot of the mountain, do NOT use the air conditionning when returning to the village!!! 😉 Bravo, to the creaters of this wonderful village. I most highly recommand Thalori Village.

No, can’t think of a thing!!!

This property is located in an UNECSO biosphere reserve and is a exceptional example to people living in place while exhibiting their culture by using the resources in a sustainable manner. The entire village was renovated to modern standards while retaining the magic of the era. The food, the service and the feeling of being a part of a greater experience in living sustainably is all a part of the experience.

Staff not friendly ("just the minimum"), what we don't expect for this king of accomodation. But may be because we were there just for one night

the road to reach the place is lost in the mountain, you are afraid to be lost. than the village appears in the middle of nowhere overlooking the see. This place is incredible: the view from the swimming pool amazing. rooms are so typical, with terrasse. Great place.
