Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanySometimes some food ingredients were missing or were out of stock in the kitchen for breakfast and lunch/dinner, so we had to choose a different meal or drink that was available. But this was an issue in other cafes and restaurants outside the hotel, too.
The Elementum is like a small gem hidden in the labyrinth of Uluwatu and close to Dreamland beach. We stayed in the suite which is atop the entrance hall and dining area, overlooking the pool and lodges and offering a phantastic view towards the ocean. The suite was incredibly spacious and offered all amenities we could want and then some. The bed was one of the best beds we've slept in. Natural light would fill the whole room during the day. Unfortunately, my friend got sick. Fortunately the staff at Elementum really knows how to treat their guests. Hendra (the manager) helped us call a doctor in one of the best clinics and he even gave us his private number to contact him anytime. We had to stay one day longer and there was no problem for the booking. The waiters were bringing us the food to the room almost every day, because my friend had to rest in bed. I tried 3 different massages (aromatherapy, facial treatment and foot reflexology) and they were all good and affordable.

AustraliaOnly Bali sockets in my room, bring an adapter or get one down the road at the supermarket for 4AUD
The staff were lovely, so friendly and accommodating I would name individuals but they were all so good. Breakfast included, juice, coffee and one item off the menu is a good way to start the day. AC not pointing at the bed is good, still super cold. Laundry was reasonable 30k per kilo. Really Really good morning coffee - Bali beans I believe. So close to beaches, restaurants and the gyms.

AustraliaThe rooms were lovely and the staff were always accommodating and super friendly. Unlike a lot of other places where breakfast ends at 11am, they will provide your included breakfast all day! The pool area was beautiful. We’re able to organise a scooter rental and easily explore the rest of Uluwatu. We will definitely be returning!

NorwayWe disliked that our stay was coming to an end.
The people working there are amazing. The best part about this place is their amazing pool with great sunbeds. It was so good we rebooked for a couple more nights. The breakfast was also amazing!

South AfricaWarm and welcoming. Was a fantastic experience. Thank big thank to Hendra and his team who are all warm, kind and attentive. The hotel itself is athletically beautiful. I ate every meal at the hotel during my stay. Lastly, the food is really of a very high standard, and felt no need to explore any other restaurants whilst in Bingin/Uluwatu area. I highly recommend.

United KingdomOur only very tiny niggle was that the beds here were quite hard, but that’s just a matter of person taste.
The Elementum is a small boutique hotel where the staff really work hard to look after you, from wonderful arrival drinks to their excellent wide ranging choice of breakfast. It’s location is amazing in that it is perched on the edge of a ridge above the sea and is positioned so that the pool and the end two (deluxe) rooms have a wonderful view of the coastline and sea. The other (maybe 8:10) rooms, all face the pool and are separated by a small hedge. (There are also sheer drapes and curtains to prevent people looking in.) To get to the beach it’s a short grab ride. Grabs are everywhere, so this is easy. The decor throughout is wonderful and very modern and the rooms are very relaxing. The bathrooms at the back of the bedrooms are open to the air, which we didn’t mind. Overall, we had an excellent stay, would definitely go back and would without hesitation recommend this lovely unique hotel.

United Stateshard to say anything bad about it... the beds are a little stiff if I had to be a snob and say something but that seemed to be the case at almost every place we stayed.
great location quiet peaceful and only a 5 min scooter ride to main stripe of uluwatu town. Service is amazing all the employees are extremely helpful, nice while still giving you space, and accommodating to any needs like we rented a scooter. breakfast and restaurant has very clean tasty food and a lot of options along with some good beverages all around alcohol or not/smoothies/coffee drinks. got a nice massage right at their spa room. anything you need just ask they probably can help... they'll give you clean towels whenever(wasn't the case at every other place we stayed in bali usually only get one set)! they have designated bathroom, pool, and beach towels. rooms are very nice. we ended up loving this place so much we actually came back to stay for additional 3 days to end of our bali trip. also used their laundry service which was a bonus to have the option to clean some clothes only took a day.

United KingdomThe restaurant left quite a bit to be desired. It was okay but every meal we had was that; just okay.
The small volume of rooms means that you are prioritised by the staff and they ensure that your stay is as good as it can be. The location is angelic and the view from the pool is spectacular. The bar is amazing for cocktails and they have a plethora to choose from. It is close to everywhere you would want to go in Uluwatu.

PolandNothing to complain about, the entire stay was excellent.
I rate my stay at The Elementum very highly. We stayed in Bungalow No. 2, which had a beautiful view of the ocean. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean. Even though the bathroom had a partially open ceiling, there were no insects or bugs at all. What impressed us the most during our stay was the restaurant overlooking the pool and ocean. The food served both at breakfast and from the à la carte dinner menu (standard menu) was outstanding. Despite having stayed in several 5-star hotels in Bali before, The Elementum turned out to be by far the best in terms of food quality and overall value for money.
