Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe arranged to arrive at 8:30pm, but when we did so reception was shut and we had no info on how to get the key. If you are in this position, ring the "emergencies only" number on the door of reception, and security will check you in. That was the only negative other than the shower cubicle being a squeeze.
Part of the University College Cork halls of residence and well positioned on the edge of campus. About 20 mins walk to the city centre with a couple of pleasant routes. We had a set of four student rooms and kitchen plus lounge area. Very spacious, and a good value budget option. The kitchen was well equipped, and the furniture in the lounge pretty new. There is a good cafe on site.

AustraliaShower was very small and very low pressure. There were quite a few short and curly hairs around so possibly not the cleanest.
Good location a little out of the city but possible to walk or catch bus. Plenty of space in the main living area and bedrooms. Staff were friendly and helpful.

United KingdomAs expected it was basic accommodation but it did the job. Needed hooks in the shower to hang towels etc.
Clean, light and airy flat. This is standard, basic student university accommodation but it was roomy and provided all that we needed to cook meals and explore Cork. A pleasant walk into the centre of town. Most bedrooms had a small double bed, great storage and wash basins.

United KingdomWe were asked to let reception know when we were arriving and to pick a time slot. We were coming from the airport so chose 8pm-9pm . When we arrived the office was closed. So I phoned the number on the booking for help. No answer ! The only option we had was to call the emergency number on the door ( which we were loathe to do ) . A man answered..we explained, he said he'd be there soon...,! We had to push for a rough time from him ! It was about a 10 minute wait ..he gave us our keys and said "it's over there" ...pointing !! Then he ran after us and said " have you paid? " ( We had on booking.com) We found our own way...got in but had no wi-fi as we hadn't been supplied it I messaged about it and received a message the following day with the details. The free toiletries were 2 small squares of soap each ( take your own I advise) The washing up liquid was empty and the washing up sponge was filthy...we asked for replacements at reception the following day. Plus , we had to get an iron dropped over , as that was missing too. We dropped some breadcrumbs and wanted to Hoover them up but it didn't work ! Overall...the apartment was clean EXCEPT for the living room/kitchen are floor which looked ok until you checked your feet after walking in it barefoot!!!!
The apartment was basic but met most of our needs. It was out of the city but a bus stop is directly across the road with regular buses . We stayed in apartment 3 which was on the top floor , so if you are not good with stairs , try to avoid the top !!

IrelandThe shower wasn't great. The heavy doors kept sticking going out of the kitchen and in to the hallway and had a hard closing fire door that slammed and with young kids that was not great. The duvets need some upgrading as they seem to be well used. The carpets need cleaning because everyone's socks turned black and we had to wear shoes the whole time.
Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Parking was great. Location was fantastic. Walking distance to city centre. Swimming pool.5 minutes walk away. Lovely local take away called noodlee, highly recommend.

IrelandThe mattresses on the beds were a bit sunken. And there weren't any cleaning supplies for the toilet.
Basic but very affordable for family of 7. Made the holiday more enjoyable that there were other families on site too and the kids were able to enjoy an evening football kick around. We couldn't have had a holiday if we had to go to hotel or b&b prices. The rooms are basic but with a full kitchen (for 4) it was ideal for breakfast and picnic making. We didn't intend to spend long in our accommodation and saved so much money on eating out during the day by being able to cook and take food with us. We have food allergies and a disabled child so it was perfect for our needs The staff at reception were very friendly and replaced our broken toaster within hours. Absolutely fabulous Chinese down the road. Would Absolutely return

IrelandGreat location with the Mardyke Arena just a few minutes walk away. The swimming pool there had reasonable pay as you go fees for unlimited time until 8pm with a lovely kids pool with lots of toys to play with. They had multi activity camps on for the kids there and the climbing wall there was great. The playground beside it was also great, with the free museum in the park, loys of trees to climb and a nice cafe. The apartment was very clean with wifi but there was no tv and the sofa could do with being replaced. But the kids loved having their own bedroom with a double bed. The apartment had a separate toilet and shower room. There was a little cafe on campus and a few takeaways nearby and a shop for the essentials. Free parking with manned barriers. No noise at night. A great base for exploring cork
