Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesHotel in center of town, above the restaurant and bars. Quiet though with 2 pane windows. Wonderful location to explore the town with lots of music and walks along the water. Large modern room, comfortable bed and bathroom. Coffee maker and water provided.

United Kingdom3 small gripes... more personal choice, I found the beds to be ok but my partner she was uncomfortable, the shower was a little underpowered but I like a fire hose kind of shower. This last one is no reflection on the hotel, but the parking they recommend, if you have no patience or a larger car you will leave with memory's but will also leave behind paint work... very tight, not very well laid out.
The hotel and room were very well finished too a high standard The room was bright and well decorated, great styling. The bathroom was modern and fresh. The front of house staff booking in and check out were helpful and friendly. The pub that the hotel was part of was good, had a great meal in there. Many thanks. 👍👍

SwedenGreat hotel if you’re looking for pub culture, live music and being in the midst of it all. We parked in the Spanish Arch parking garage and the hotel validation was easy; some narrow spaces and tight turns but worked well with small car. Friendly staff.

FranceWell, the stain was not good, but like I said before, I had half a refund. Which is nice. I was there during St Patrick's day, so it was loud outside and below, so there's maybe a little problem with sound isolation, but it wasn't a deal breaker.
The personnel was really nice and helpful. I had a problem with a bed (a stain) and they refunded me half of my stay. Very professional. The bed were nice and confy without being too soft.

AustraliaThe rooms are small , no mini fridge . I prefer a room where you can actually go for a walk around the city for a while and come back to the room to relax for a bit before going out again , but the rooms are a bit too small for that ; it’s literately a bed in a room . The beds are short ; I’m only 5’7 and my heels were at the end of the mattress ( certainly haven’t experienced that Becker ); my partner is taller and her feet’s were out over the end of the bed . Some DIY patch up jobs on ceiling plasterboard and paintwork made the room look like it was close to needing an overhaul . 3pm check in and $25 if you wanted to check in a little earlier when the rooms were actually ready is abit rich ; I haven’t been asked for additional payment in any other hotels if rooms were ready and early check in possible ( I do travel a lot ) . Front desk staff were a bit ordinary , but the front desk area is pretty confined which would probably depress anyone working there , so probably understandable
Location is fantastic & it’s connected to its own bar . Rooms were clean

AustraliaThe noise from the nearby pubs was a little loud but we were warned of this by the hotel and it didn’t spoil our drag there at all.
From the time we arrived at the Résidence Hotel to be greeted by a friendly staff member at the Reception Desk our two night stay at the Hotel exceeded expectations. The room was extremely comfortable and clean with modern and contemporary decor. It is in a wonderful location right on Quay Street with pubs and restaurants literally on our doorstep and within simple walking distance of many other Galway attractions.

United KingdomIf you're with family at a busy time and need quiet overnight, this is not the place for you. There was a bit of noise at night from people in the street and also in the morning from delivery trucks etc but we were mostly unbothered as it was cool so we had to have the windows closed and we were there on a Monday and Tuesday so it wasn't too busy. The rooms are small and there are almost no places to hang wet jackets etc. so that was a bit of a pain but to be honest, we were happy to sacrifice space in order to be in such a great location. The only thing I would say is a proper negative is the shower was pretty weak which is always disappointing when you want a good strong shower.
Incredible location, good facilities and wonderful pub downstairs with live music every night. The staff were friendly and helpful in case you need recommendations. Lift to rooms, situated close to the shops, all the good pubs/restaurants as well as the river and the bay which can all be explored easily on foot. We got lucky with the weather so were able to do it all. Food nearby is pretty much all great and the Thai place around the corner was a wonderful surprise, unassuming and basic on the outside, gorgeous on the inside. We got a bit concerned reading other comments about parking but honestly don't get what people are moaning about. Such a location could not possibly have offered anything different. The discount on parking is great (2 nights/3 days for 20ish euro). We were in a big SUV and decided to opt for the car park that's 4 minute walk away as it looked more generous but when we walked by the one that was closer to the hotel it didn't look that bad and we could have managed that too. If you've driven/lived in a city, you'll be fine. Really didn't mind the aspects that others have complained about for the sake of being right in the middle of it all. Loved it. Loved Galway - could have spent many more days there.
