Busy and dangerous road from Hotel to Taormina cable car

Coast road location meant that it could sometimes be a bit lively walking along to the town- we varied our options between walking and taxis and the cable cars. I suppose you can’t have everything in such a spectacular location- views amazing from top of Taormina… Hotel bathroom suites have been modernised at some point whilst more traditional colourful tiles remain, and always fresh and clean, toiletries and towels renewed, only issue may be the small space between toilet and shower.

A traditional hotel, spotlessly clean and located right by the beach with beautiful October sunrises and views of the Italian mainland on clear days. Staff very approachable and professional, and many offered very helpful advice regarding trips and finding our way around. Great selection of fruit/cereals or cooked breakfast with bonus of what seemed to be freshly baked orange/almond/lemon cakes and other sweet treats.

We would have preferred a shorter walk to the cable car (to the old town above).

This is a lovely traditional Italian hotel with a private beach. Our room was large and airy. It was comfortably furnished and spotlessly clean. The views of the beach, the sea and the Italian main-land beyond were beautiful. The hotel is very well managed. There are plenty of staff on hand and they are all pleasant and attentive. The hotel's restaurant serves good food and wine. The buffet breakfast is very good.

Surprise extra city tax and the outdated decor. New door furniture and room furniture would enhance the quality of the hotel. The breakfast time of 7.30 am is late for overseas guests.

The restaurant is poor, breakfast is good but menu choices and quality of food for lunch and dinner was poor, lack of pavement on the road to town takes some getting used to

I did not like the breakfast at all. The hot food was not good and the cappuccino from the machine was not good. I truly believe the cappuccino should be made to order when staying in a nice hotel in a resort area like Taormina. Also, the mattresses were a little uncomfortable because of the hardness.

I liked the view, the terrace and the beach. I liked that someone was on the beach to set up the beach chairs and umbrella.

The masseuses and souvenir sellers on the beach. Surely the hotel can stop this on a private beach.

A super traditional Italian hotel. Our room was spacious with a nice view. We loved having a bath! The breakfast was good.

The shower cubicle because it was so small and although the hair dryer was a relic and a novelty it did get a bit tiresome to use effectively. The walk along the busy road to get to the cable car which takes you to the centre of Taormina was not ideal. A shuttle service put on by the hotel would be a good idea. A taxi to the centre is a €40 round trip so gets expensive.

The views were amazing, it was peaceful, the staff were professional, the private beach was leisurely and relaxed, the hotel decor was so old fashioned it was fashionable again 😂 in all seriousness, we loved the quirky charm of the decor, fixtures and fittings.

The road to the cable car is very busy and a bit scary at times as there is no path on route. it takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

First impressions the hotel looked like it needed a refurbishment but you soon fall in love with its old world charm. Our double doors opened straight onto the sea and we were rocked to sleep by the ocean. A quiet situation from the hustle and bustle of Taormina but close enough to walk to the cable car which takes you up the hill. Very easy to do.

No iron in the room. You have to pay to have your garments pressed. Breakfast is very basic. Outdoor seating picturesque however too many bugs, birds and bees. No daily water provided, you need to purchase.

Beach front and rooms were clean. Great views of the beach from level 3 !

OK, they can upgrade the technology, but I liked it very much. Bathroom is very tiny, but clean and cosy....

it is not the newest one hotel, but has own charm and perfect staff. do not expect newest technology, it is more Agatha Christie style from last century, but hotel has everything you need for stay! very comfy beds and beautiful view and one of the best terrace I saw! From hotel to city center of Tarmina is it by taxi around 10-12 minutes, but here you have the own beach. We have the rooms at the highest flor and it was really perfect to have such great view on Italy on other side of the sea. Minibar was very good prepared and it was funny to get there - you have to use the key! :)

The only thing missing is a pool in case of windy days on the sea.

I liked that this hotel was right on the beach. It's walking distance (20 minutes) to the cable car to upper Taormina. The staff were helpful with booking tours for us. Breakfast was excellent. Dinners we're ok, not great.

It is nice to have furniture from ‘70s but some need restoration.

Very good location with private beach. Parking always available. Hotel was kept in good condition, without changing the decoration and facilities (as much as possible) since ‘70s.

Updated a/c. You can’t walk anywhere as the road outside has no sidewalks.

The room was ok but some of the furniture was a bit tired (ripped leather chair). The shower was very small. the maps under the counter at reception were faded, giving the first impression of faded overall!
