Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgThe hotel is located outside of the city centre of Rome. In my opinion, this doesn't really shine through the recommandations people left for the resort. As we didn't really check how far it was, we were surprised to see that we had a walk of 1,1 km to the metro station. Let me tell you it was really exhausting to walk these distances continually after a long day in the city center. Also, bare in mind that you can't just pop into the hotel to grab something or just rest for a little while, which became quite irritating after a few days. To sum up, this is entirely our fault and not the hotels, just thought it was important to point it out.
Apart from the location of the hotel, everything was to our liking and statisfaction. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was very clean and tidy. I really recommend this hotel for people that are not dependant on public transportation.

United KingdomThere is one street which is kinda steep that you have to go up and down when walking towards the Vaitican. So if you are a little unhealthy or have a disability you might not like this location. Unless paying for a taxi. There is a bus actually but not sure how frequent. The hotel also has those E bikes so that could be an option. Wasn’t a big deal breaker though. The vaitican is only about a 20min walk away and it is a nice busy area to walk around. Pool side doesn’t have an option to order what you want from there which I think it should be something this hotel should provide. You have to go up to the main part to order. They do bring the food and drinks to you. I just think when you on holiday mode you just don’t want to get up from your sunbed and then cover up to go order a drink etc. Maybe an app option to order through would be an idea. There was a lot of reviews complaining about being ignored at the bar. I just thought maybe people are being too sensitive but on one occasion it did happen to me lol - I don’t think they intend to be rude but when you standing there alone and the bar staff don’t acknowledge you not even to say ‘I be with you in just a min’ it can come across a bit off. But again - it’s just happened the once but I understand now what the other reviews meant by it.
The property size was amazing. So much space and luxury feeling. The room size was great. It was absolutely clean all over. The staff were lovely and helpful. The pool was amazing and it was our main activity during our stay in Rome. It was extremely hot the week we stayed 32c so the pool was definitely needed. The pool side menu is great but the main restaurant menu does need a change. It seems very limited and the two pasta we ordered were not the best flavours.

AustraliaThe views can be very lacklustre, we were looking into a brick wall and dirt. The lunch menu is also very small. Additionally, the train line was down when we went and so we had to catch taxis into city centre, meaning the location is also not the best.
The staff are fantastic and the food is amazing, beds are comfortable as well.

IrelandTook a while to place an order for food at the bar, no option to bring down hotel room towels to pool and so had to pay €2.50 each day for a pool towel. A small bit far from city centre however like scooters made this not a problem and actually quite a fun commute
Very good rooms, spacious and clean. Gorgeous pool which was a delight during the heatwave of August. Luxurious feel and modern interior. Staff were all wonderful and kind and accommodating. Large beds. Poolside food was incredible and worth the money. Electric lime scooters always at property so easy to get around for cheap.

BelgiumIt’s just such a scam that they make you pay for towels at the pool (and don’t let you come in with your room towels), after the high price you pay per night! Tasteless.

IrelandThe air conditioning in our room wasn't working well, however the staff gave us a fan instead and that helped. The location is a bit outside of the city but makes up for it with the pool.
The pool was lovely, with a very nice lifeguard in attendance. The loungers are comfy. Overall the facilities are great and staff were very helpful. One receptionist gave us a map and lots of advice on where to go in Rome. The bus is a short walk from the hotel, the vatican city is about a 30 minute walk.
