Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Everything was perfect
Elena was very friendly from the moment we first arrived. When we reached the place, it was a very positive surprise. The room, as well as being beautiful, was very comfortable and clean. She provided us with extra towels, information about the city, and took care of details. We weren't expecting breakfast and yet she made it available. The room was about a 10-minute walk from the center and was quiet and easy to get around. The location was calm and easily accessible.

Dog barking a quite lot in neighbor, although they were cute. Couch in the room was very outdated. Dim light was flashing furiously, hollow
Owner is friendly and gave good restaurant tips. Breakfast kinda basic but nice, you have have plenty of croissants, bakeries and coffee. Free parking. Room was spacious and you stay at local residents area. Nice to spend some time at terrace and kitchen areas.

The family hosting us was very kind and accommodating. Elena gave us directions to hire a bike and go to a town called Borghetto, which was a highlight or our trip. We also tried a local restaurant, which was nice and fairly priced. There was also coffee and pastries provided for breakfast. The room and bathroom exceeded expectations. There is a small fridge in the room, air conditioning, and a cleaner each day. We would stay again.

If you are coming from the station it's a long walk - 35 mins. However worth it as one of the best places we've stayed.
The host was so helpful. Very big room and bathroom, very tastefully decorated.Right next to an excellent restaurant. Would definitely come back.

A very comfortable, lovely clean place. Our hostess was very welcoming and on site for checkin. We enjoyed sitting the outside area with it’s table and chairs. The breakfast room was delightful. We had dinner at a restaurant five minutes walk away. The town centre and lake close to walk to. Great parking in the garage for our bicycles.

I thought it would be walkable from the train station, but it's not. Maybe if you're very fit and much younger because the house is uphill from town. It was only 9 euros by taxi, so no problem. Walking to and from the town center is pretty easy.
Spacious room, very comfortable bed, large modern bathroom, great kitchen if you want to cook meals. Also coffee or tea available anytime. Elena is very friendly and helpful.

The apartment is a bit uphill from the center. But we went everywhere on foot, so if you have a car (or you're in good shape :D) that's not an issue.
We loved the breakfast and coffee station in the house. The host Elena was very kind and approachable. She gave us a map of Peschiera and explained where to catch a bus and boat to other towns by the lake. Also gave us great restaurant recommendations, which we are specifically grateful for! The apartment is clean and the bed is comfortable. Housekeeping tidis the room daily, which is great. The neighborhood is quiet and there is a very nice restaurant nearby.

Distance from train station, port and Town centre. In the heat, 38 degree temps, was exhausting to go to and from centre. Breakfast was limitted in choice to bread and cakes, so if you have wheat allergy, make own arrangements for breakfast.
The coffee machine in kitchen, available for guests Friendly host and considerate. Very clean apartment.
