Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaRoom service would be great but they don't have it. Purchased buffet dinner for 45$ per person but felt underwhelming.. perhaps the BBQ dinner would have been a better choice
Beautiful view out the window. Clean stay, lots of room. Shower room is clean and mist spray is great.

United KingdomIt is slightly dated, though this doesn’t detract from the property. I’ll definitely be rebooking this hotel when I return to Ishigaki.
The perfect location for beach lovers, nature lovers, and those who like the quiet life. Situated on a quiet cove just down from Sukuji beach (which has a jellyfish net), near Kabira Bay and other beauty spots on the rural northern part of the island. The room was huge, more like a suite, with everything you need and very clean, the staff were lovely. I had a room overlooking the ocean on the 7th floor and the views from the balcony were stunning. If you love Family Mart snacks stock up before checking in as these are mostly around the Southern side of the island (only a 30 min drive away). There’s a restaurant serving local food and a bar which sells great toasties. It really is a comfortable stay in the middle of paradise.

SwedenToilet in a very small room. Small TV-set. No chairs/table at balcony. Both beaches not suitable for swimming during low tide.
Location by the seaside, in a quiet shallow bay. Outside pool. Bach near the hotel. Additional beach with protective net just a 5 minuts walk, south from hotel. Spacious room, balcony, nice sea view. Big car parking, lat off space. We enjoyed good drinks at the bar.

SwedenIf you can look pass the outdated rooms, and find them charming, you will be great. Just adjust the expectations. One thing to say, the price is too high for what the hotel is. It's a 3☆ charming place, with amazing location. Could be cleaner, there were some small spiders and webs in the room, and very dusty.
The island is fantastic and the beach is great. Amazing location to relax. Lunch at the bar is amazing, try the waffles! We had the most amazing time.

United KingdomWhile the location is beach side it is completely isolated. We drove to other restaurant 4 nights out of a five night stay to avoid the dreadful buffet dinner.

JapanThe hotel is not new, and you can feel it. Slight renovation would be really great. The food was fine, but it would be great to have a bit more variety for breakfast. Restaurant and bar close quite early
Amazing location. The views from the rooms are stunning! Nice territory and beautiful beach, there is a snorkeling tours service at the beach, which is very convenient. Nice bar at the lobby, good selection of cocktails

RomaniaThe cleanliness standards were not what we expected. We stayed in the main building, which is older and not renovated. The main AC on our floor was full of mold, same goes for the ACs in the buffet area. There was no room cleaning throughout our 9 days stay. Any clean up had to be scheduled in advance and it costs 3000 yen. We asked for a fresh set of bedsheets after a week and were denied. The location is quite remote and there are very few nearby options to eat out, so you’d depend on a car if you wanted to avoid eating every meal at the hotel.
The location is great in terms of the beach. However, I recommend renting a car throughout your stay.

New ZealandThe restaurant, wanted a take away but not possible. The property quite big. Did a snorkel trip with the manta rays was a combination with divers on the boat, when I saw the scuba divers diving they all 3 where holding and lying on the coral, would not recommend to dive with them.
The check in staff were really helpful and nice!

CanadaThe restaurant was crazy expensive and the food wasn’t that good. It’s at least a 30 minute walk to any other restaurant in Kabira. Fine if you’ve rented a car but we had not so it was lots of walking.

JapanAlthough the beach in front of the hotel was beautiful, it has many rocks and I ended up hurting my foot. Besides the dishes mentioned before, most dishes were ok, with a few not very good. The beef sushi was dry. Moreover, even though we got a pamphlet saying that there was a barbecue option available for dinner every day, when we tried to make a reservation the staff told us it was unavailable. The bathtub had a few small chips and the corner of the bathtub with the floor was a little dirty.
The staff was really friendly and you could some great activities such as diving, snorkeling, SUP, etc. The view from the room was right to the sea and it was beautiful. The breakfast was good, with a variety of local food. The dinner buffet had the local ice cream brand and also sashimi, which were good. The dishes with chunks of pork, and the ones with cheese were good.

AustraliaIt's not that I didn't like it, something to keep in mind. The hotel is a little old, but I felt that added to the charm.

JapanWe stayed in one of the villas. It was so peaceful, and the gardens surrounding the villa were lovely. We enjoyed the outside spa tub - it was very private. The room was spacecous and had good air conditioning. The location was ideal (with a rental car) as we could access much of the island easily. We did the diving tour from the hotel which was convienient. The breakfast and dinners were great, although the dinner was quite pricey.

United KingdomNot many choices for food nearby as most restaurants in town were closed by 5pm. My main criticism would be the dive school which I found to have some really poor practices. Taking novice divers out with no real experience and letting them climb, rest, stand and hold on to all of the coral was very disappointing. It is not Disneyland and they should be doing more to protect and educate the people they are taking out!!!
Friendly staff, really nice beach and facilities were good.
