Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

TaiwanStaying at the Karuizawa Prince Hotel was a truly relaxing experience. The hotel is nestled in a beautiful forest setting, which gave us a sense of peace and tranquility throughout our stay. The room was very clean and comfortable, and we felt completely at ease. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious, and the staff were warm and friendly, making us feel genuinely welcomed. I would definitely love to come back again if I have the chance.

Hong KongSlightly confusing instructions on how to get to the hotel initially, but once you got the hang of it it made sense.
Location right by the slopes, private ski equipment area for hotel guests, rental shop was only a 30m walk away too. Convent shuttle bus to get to and from the outlet mall, but its also very walkable/close by!

United StatesCoffee is a necessity. If you drink black coffee, you are all set at this hotel. There is black coffee in the room, as well as in the gorgeous lodge/lobby area downstairs. The coffee downstairs is from a machine, like at a convenience store, but the only choice is black coffee. They didn't even have Blendy Sticks. I'll definitely bring my own next time. Starbucks is nearby, but it doesn't open until 9:00.
This hotel was great! It was within walking distance of the train station, even closer to the shopping center and plenty of restaurants. The view looking out onto the ski slope was wonderful. My favorite thing, however, was the onsen. The indoor and outdoor pools at the onsen were worth the price of the hotel.

SingaporeIt was supposed to be ski in and out but the hotel rental for snow gear rental is 10min walk away that we can't do the ski in and out.. ironic..
The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom and onsen were lovely too.

United StatesThe shower/bathroom set up is a little weird because it is right at the front door, but it was fine.
The East Cottages is like a little cabin. It is not fancy by any means but very cozy, comfortable and clean. Proximity to the ski lifts was fantastic. It was great that there is a shuttle service provided from the cabin to different locations within the property.

SingaporeThere is an onsen property tax to be paid onsite, which i wasn't aware of. Breakfast service was slightly slow but that's because we were a big group of 18 pax.
The location of this hotel was great as it's right by the start of the ski slopes and rental shops! It's also linked to the premium outlet mall which is less than 5 mins walk. Very convenient! The Prince property is made up of multiple hotels, and we were lucky to book this hotel as it tied in with our skiing plans. Onsen was great, and the room was spacious for 2 large luggage to be opened at the same time.

AustraliaCost of food in the restaurants.
Great location on the mountain so my family could ski in and ski out. The resort so it is expensive because its 20m from the chair lift. we stayed for 3 nights but it was early in December so snow wasn't great. We saved money by going to local food court, wow the food in the resort was expensive.

Singaporethe ceiling and beams was a bit low so I hit my head a couple of times at the living area.
It was a quaint little place with cabins spread out so there was privacy. The cabin was large and spacious. The staff were helpful and already ready to provide transport to and from your cabin.

Hong KongThe wagyu beef offered at the Teppanyaki restaurant is too oily and expensive. That is why we had dinner at the outlet mall the next day.
The location is good, very close to the outlet mall and it provides free shuttle bus to and fro the hotel and the mall. The room is quite spacious and has a good view of the green outside the hotel. The hot spring facility is wonderful and relaxing. The hotel has a set breakfast menu in its restaurant. If you prefer buffet style, you can request to have breakfast at the Prince Hotel West.
