Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsGojo Miyabi Inn is a beautiful, traditional-style townhouse perfectly located near the heart of Kyoto, a few minutes by public transport from Kyoto Station. It’s spacious enough for six people with luggage and offers a peaceful, authentic vibe. Huge thanks to Yumi for her clear instructions, late-hour support, and helpful tips about local events. The house was spotless and full of charm: highly recommended for a comfortable stay in Kyoto!

BelgiumFrom the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by our lovely host, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. She even gave us tailored tips for Kyoto based on our travel plans, which made our trip even more special. We also really appreciated how flexible they were with our arrival time — it took a lot of stress out of our travel day. Another big plus: the host speaks English, which made communication super easy and smooth. The beds were incredibly comfortable — despite being on tatami mats, we slept like babies on the futons. The shower was also excellent, with great water pressure and perfect temperature control. The service was outstanding: fresh sheets, clean towels, and the bins were regularly emptied. Everything was spotless and well taken care of. We would definitely come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommended! One of the best stays we’ve had in Japan — everything was just perfect.

IrelandIt was a lovely, traditional Japanese place to stay in Kyoto. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the location was convenient, being close to the best ramen restaurant in Kyoto and the train station. Yumi, the owner, and her staff gave us a tour of the house, explaining every detail. They also shared their recommendations for must-visit places during our stay in Kyoto. We absolutely loved this place.

AustraliaWas a little hard to keep the lower floor warm as there’s only one heater and the kitchen area can get quite cold. We soon figured out to close the living area up and it was more than comfortable after that.
Great location, extremely comfortable beds. Awesome little traditional house with all the creature comforts required for a comfortable stay. Close to plenty of attractions within walking distance.

CanadaI am taller and bumped my head a few times inside, the house was built 100 years ago.
We really enjoyed the authentic atmosphere of the house and it provided all the modern amenities. The location was very good as well, close to the train station, subway line and bus stop.

Our host Yumi was great and she ensured that our stay was comfortable at most. House was even prettier than pictures. All facilities were new and modern although the house was almost 100 years old. House has one upper floor but we moved one of the futon bed to downstairs to accommodate our friends needs. So no problem at all.

AustraliaThere was nothing to dislike about this property. The stairs were a challenge yes, but they were fine once you got used to them and there was no need to go up and down too often.
We had the best stay here. 2 couples, 3 nights. We were met by the property manager Yumi at an arranged time. She spoke fantastic English and was cheerful and informative. We did a couple of her suggestions including spending the day away from Crowds in a local park. It was most enjoyable. She was also able to tell Is where there several Cherry blossoms in full bloom as they were quite scarce at the time. Thank you Yumi for making our time so enjoyable. This property is everything it says it is and more . Loved it

JapanEverything was honestly wonderful!
We were met by our lovely host who showed us through the house, how to work everything and gave us personalized recommendations in the area. The house itself was incredible, traditional beds on tatami mats with the paper sliding doors and walls, hot showers, beautiful scenery in a stunning setting. It felt fully immersive in the culture and history of Japan, a once in a lifetime experience staying at Gojo Miyabi Inn and I would love to visit again.

United StatesBeing a traditional Japanese house, there was no sofa in the living area, so it was difficult to get comfortable for tv watching. But that wasn’t a huge problem since we were there to experience the area.
The location was great - there was a grocery store, convenience stores, and restaurants all in easy walking distance, plus very close to the metro station. The house is beautiful and it was amazing to stay in a traditional Japanese home. Yumi met us at the house and showed how to use everything, provided wonderful information about the area and clearly loves this house.
