CanadaThe shower head leaked a tiny bit but overall not a big deal. The a/c had a bright green light when it was on which was kind of annoying when all the lights are out and you are trying to sleep & we couldn’t try the baths as we have tattoos that are too difficult to cover. Not major complaints and overall it was a great place to stay!
Great location, decent sized rooms & the staff were lovely. Having on site laundry is really a plus.

The hotel is beautiful from the entry area, the reception and the rooms. The location is very close to a metro line and it’s very convenient to also walk around to the temples or the city center. The room was very big with lots of space to move around and so was the bedroom. The breakfast had a lot of options to choose from so I recommend booking it with breakfast included

Everything was amazing! The staff was so helpful and they gave us complimentary lunch voucher and welcome drink voucher to the really nice restaurant in the ground floor! The room was big and it had minimal Japanese decoration, reminding a Ryocan but with a modern touch. Honestly it is a great place to stay in Kyoto, I wish I would have stayed more!

Loved the location, the atmosphere and the overall look of the hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They welcomed us with a choice of drink and snack upon check-in which was a wonderful personalised touch. Also loved the amenities including the guest lounge downstairs with free drinks and snacks. We didn’t use the onsen but it’s great to have one within the hotel. The rooms were so clean and modern.

Switzerlandstreet noise, one night with the police siren, it was rather loud. Location was also great but not within short walking distance from e.g.Gion, Nishiki Market or Kyoto Train station, 15min walk.
Amazing ambiance, facilities (onsen and lounge room, simply excellent), spotless clean, beautiful rooms. the staff was very corteous and helpful - my daughter mentioned (she is 9 :-) that welcome drinks should include drinks for kids. Value for money - 10/10. We stayed two nights.

United StatesThe only complain we had is that we were unable to use the onsen due to have tattoos and one of our travelers being trans. This is probably more due to Japanese culture than the hotel itself, but be aware if this is one of the reasons you're booking this hotel!
The overall traditional vibe of this hotel was immacualte. This was one of the few hotels where we were able to stay in the same room with friends and it was very accommodating to that end. Our room had 4 separate beds and two bathrooms which was perfect! This was probably one of the largest rooms you could get in all of Japan and for a reasonable price. It was in a great location to get to other parts of Kyoto as well as a day trip to Osaka and they had a lounge with free snacks and drinks which was amazing. The staff was very friendly and the restaurants (while pricy) had pretty good food.
