Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GibraltarThe only complaint i have is the pillows, they were very uncomfortable, considered buying a pillow myself after the second morning of waking up with a stiff neck and some pain / discomfort.
There was no restaurant in the building ( at least not that i saw ) but its right next to 3 different restaurants so food wasnt an issue, its door to door to a coffee shop, you turn the corner and there are many shops along the street which leads to the centre. Great walking distance to the centre.

RomaniaThe view from my room (looking over an unattractive back yard). The hotel leans more towards the "basic" type of accommodation (a fact that I was aware of from the start, so it's not really a complaint, more of an comment for other travellers).
Very central location, the room was large enough and it had a desk. While the hotel does not offer breakfast, you can find complimentary coffee at the reception. The bed was very comfy and the room was clean.

IrelandWhile not an issue for us, there is no elevator so if you may want to request a room on the lower floor if you find stairs difficult. The hotel does not provide breakfast but there is a lovely cafe right across the road. No air conditioning was for us the biggest issue as the first day we arrived is was unseasonably warm (around 20 degrees) and the room was very hot, even with the fan that was provided.
The staff are the real standout at this hotel. They are so friendly and welcoming every time you step in and out of the hotel. The hotel is very well located, just a short walk to all the main attractions (Van Gogh museum, Anne Frank House, Palace)

United KingdomNot an issue, but the stairs are very steep, but they are wide, so no real issues in getting up and down. It might not suit people with mobility issues or breathing issues. Not a lover of wet rooms, just don't like water swimming all over the place, but the shower was powerful and hot.
Spacious enough room at the rear of the Hotel overlooking gardens and trees. Very quiet room no noise from outside. Great location near to everything that we wanted to visit and do. Excellent nights sleep in a comfortable bed. We always find the staff here very friendly and this visit was no exception, they go out of their way to be friendly and accommodating.

United KingdomOne room for 2 people, for 2 nights was €200, in late March. I know Amsterdam is an expensive place, but with this price I expected there to be more amenities, we were given plastic cups in the room, and the bathroom is a wet room. Where if we shower the water will get everywhere as there was no curtain or door to block the water, so I recommend using the toilet or sink before showering, your socks will be soaked. Also if you have bad legs so trouble getting upstairs maybe this place is not for you, as there are no lift only steep staircases.
The location is great, right in the centre of a vibrant place, able to get around the city easily. One of the staff was very welcoming a young lady from Hungary (I think, I can’t remember) she was very informative telling us that the coffee machines are free in the morning, whereas the man left us thinking that we had to pay €7 for a coffee from a coffee machine in the reception as there was no kettle in the room. She was also the one who greeted us when we first arrived making us feel welcomed. We arrived quite early so we asked if we could leave our luggage at the hotel before checking in and they accommodated.

United KingdomOur room was really small - there was no room for two suitcases so we had to juggle a bit. But the cleanliness, location and price more than made up for this. I think the other rooms are larger.
Cleaning exceeded our expectations - fresh sheets and towels were provided every day despite the hotel being really reasonably priced. Prime central location - everything was easily walkable from the hotel. We were allowed to check our luggage in early and this was stored securely. The shower was really good and water was always hot.

BelgiumIt is misleading to mention there is private parking at the hotel to then discover it is a parking 11' walk from the hotel with high rates. A lot of noice during the night. Very small room with less then 50 cm between 2 single beds who are positioned in such a way it was impossible to watch TV. The heating was covered by a small table which made it difficult for the room to heat properly. Coffee machine at reception was out of order for our whole stay.
Location is perfect. Very friendly staff!

United KingdomCold room upon arrival but was sorted next day.
Fantastic location but that's why we booked here. Upon arrival we were checked in and given room 103. Room was large and clean, the shower was hot and also clean. Unfortunately the radiator wasn't working so we reported it to reception and a fella came down to have a look. He felt the radiator for a few mins turning knobs etc but all yo no avail, he then bought us an electric heater to help warm the room. Next day we were moved to another room that was warm and also very clean. Staff were helpful and once we were warm the hotel was very good for the money. The dest staff are very nice and helpful.

PolandCold - I was there in November and the room temperature was below comfort. The hotel charges a deposit from the card - unfortunately it is not just a block of funds - it is done as a payment, which in my case caused additional costs related to the currency conversion of the transaction.
Convenient location close to the center. The hotel's location on an island between the canals, in close proximity to the strict old town of Amsterdam

Very comfy bed, the staff was friendly and helpful, and there was always someone at the desk. The location is fantastic! Great view from the 4th floor, nice big windows that open, with blackout curtains. Lots of places to walk to: museums, restaurants, coffee shops, lots of great shopping, pharmacy,

United KingdomA breakfast option would be a big positive and free coffee throughout the day or at least for a lesser price (€2 for a small cup from the machine is quite expensive). It can be a little bit noisy at night but earplugs are provided and it’s a trade off between being in the middle of the town with its advantages or staying further out where it’s quiet but accepting the disadvantages.
The location of the hotel is good and easily reached via the 397 bus from Schiphol Airport. Trams are frequent and about 5 minutes walk from the hotel which has quite a few eateries within a short walk. The Hotel itself is quite nice although it does not have a lift so that should be bourn in mind if a person has limited mobility. The staff were very good and the cleaning was frequent and excellent. Free coffee is available but only until midday.
