How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

No washclothes. Bed was a little soft.
Great location. Loved the hotel with the old fashioned phone and record player. Very nice bathroom. Nice soft linens.

There were no parking facilities and the city charges high parking fees.
The room was great. The comfort of the beds were exceptional.

The bed has 2 layers of thin mattresses. On the one hand it’s too soft for me but that is a matter of taste. An irritation is that these 2 mattresses move independently and then creates slip spaces where one feels you are going to fall.
Excelent location and great value for money with extremely friendly staff and a sauna quality shower.

We asked for directions to the waterfront & the girl on the desk couldn’t give us any. But all staff were polite & pleasant.

Not so much a dislike, more a bit odd, the TV included BBC but the region was BBC Wales.
Very nice modern hotel in a fantastic location. Check in was easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. Room was great, with double aspect windows as it was the end room. A coffee machine with pods, a kettle with tea bags and instant coffee were provided. Good bathroom with walk in shower.

Very central, lots of attractions, restaurants and shops in walking distance - or you take metro or tram. Easy to get to the hotel by tram from Rotterdam Centraal. Staff was very friendly and we got a sweet welcome present in the room. The room is really nicely designed and very well equipped.

The only thing we did not like was lack of toiletries (we forgot a toothbrush and the only option was a paid one). Some bathrobes would be also nice.
The hotel was really nice. Excellent location (close to main viewpoints in Rotterdam), very clean and super nice staff. Nice cosy common areas and decent breakfast.

We had some problems with the temperature of the room, but this was solved with the help of the staff. We stayed for three nights and would have liked to get some more coffee pods, but the cleaning staff probably chose not to enter our room because we had the 'do not disturb'-sign on our door quite a lot. Overall, no major problems or complains.
Very good location close to train station Blaak, the old harbor, food (including the Markthal) etc. Nicely furnished and quite spacious room with a coffee machine, a mini fridge, a wardrobe and hooks for hanging jackets, and a big bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. We also appreciated the hotel's focus on sustainability. If we come to Rotterdam in the future, we would be happy to stay here again.

Would be great if the rooms had smart TVs and conditioner :) I asked for a quiet room in my booking and got a room right by the elevator, but nonetheless was quiet.
Was decorated really nicely, was fun to have a record player. Location is great as the hotel is near Blaak station and main tourist spots, easy to get to and only a few minutes walk to the main shopping area as well.

Am not too fond of digital keys and all that, but must acknowledge that once in place, the system worked very well.
Lovely and affordable hotel, a little off the beaten path. Staff must be among the friendliest I ever encountered (and I do get around), and there is a great Surinamese take out place a five minutes' walk away... Excellent find; am pretty certain to return sooner or later.

No USB port in the room.
Clean safe and quiet area and close to metro. Plenty of coffee shops and other facilities . Staff were international, so helpful.

Friendly staff, very helpful. We had to come a day early before our original reservation because we had to leave Florida due to Hurricane Helene. The airports were shutting down and we had to get out so we could make the departure of the Rotterdam leaving port on Sept 28. They were able to get us in a room and about noon. Since we were jet lagged that was very appreciated. We had a lovely stay at the Savoy meeting several of our shipmates in the lobby.
