Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Getting there requires either public transportation or a fair bit of walking. Makes more sense for longer stays in winter. TV was tiny. Not that I use TV much, but it's mostly suitable for watching news.
Nice staff, much of the old style kept, but rooms somewhat modernised. Place is right next to a 27/7 store and two cafés where one can get breakfast. A few restaurants right nearby. Cooking facilities as one might expect. Pretty quiet neighbourhood, and very close to a really nice park.

You hear every noise from the bathroom in the room. The shower is super small.
The staff is great and helpful. The location is awesome, just behind the royal palace.

The room was nice and comfortable, I didn't expect to have a kitchen, which was nice even though I didn't get a chance to use it. The staff had my room prepared already when I came to put my bag in the luggage room, which was a great surprise and made my day much more comfortable.

Very helpful and kind staff. Easy and fast check-in. Coffee machine with two selections of beans. Only basic equipment in the room, but the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Good location: the tram station is just a minute or two away, metro and train (Nationaltheatret) are about 12 minutes away. Perfect place for a weekend stay.

A bit small for three people.

The only thing i did not like was the beds, they are tiny and not as comfortable but again, it is what you pay for. They are fine for someone that will stay there for 2-3 nights.
It is not luxorious but it is what you pay for. So It is a great place to stay few days at.

Although the furniture is a bit basic, Cochs Pensjonat is the place to be at least once in your life in Oslo. The hotel is in a very good location and the price is good.

Amazing location, lovely old building. The staff were all lovely and helpful. Damien was particularly helpful and knowledge giving me options to explore the City his enthusiasm and love of Oslo was infectious.

We had a family room with 4 single beds and en suite with a small kitchenette. We stayed for one night before our flight departure. Very much Hostel style vs. Hotel, great location surrounded by Embassies, Free coffee machine, Paid car park adjacent to building, excellent value for money for a one night stopover.

Just one bath towel each and no hand towels isn’t great. No bathroom toiletries such as shampoo and conditioner isn’t great either.
The room was fairly basic. No toiletries in the bathroom other than hand wash and body wash in the shower. Just one towel each, no additional extras like a hairdryer - although asked reception for one and they were happy to allow us to borrow a hairdryer. Room was very warm and the bathroom floor had underfloor heating. No extra touches made the stay less inviting but the staff were so helpful and welcoming so I would recommend this hotel for a basic but comfortable stay in Oslo.

The building entrance bell didn’t work properly.
Very friendly staff. Variety of free coffee and chocolate drinks. Microwave, dishes, glasses and cutleries.

Toiletry was not sufficient as there is Kitchen en-suit so some dish soap, scrub would have been great.
Location is fantastic, easily accessible by walk or trams. Adjacent to supermarket REMA.

The room I had was facing a busy street, so it can get noisy if you are a light sleeper. It was fine for me!
The room was spacious enough and warm. I had a shared bathroom and shower, very close to the room. Great staff and awesome location :)
