We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

New ZealandThe location was what we needed due to attending a show in the octagon, but I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. We travelled as a family and I didn’t think it was good for the children. It was very noisy all evening with the pub down stairs, it sounded like someone was running up and down the fire escapes during the night. The water pressure in the shower was terrible.

New ZealandThe room was basic, though clean, and in desparate need of refurbishment. Two handles on the door (one of which served no purpose orher than inconvenience as both had ro be turned). Toilet was functional but the flush continued to trickle afterwards and part of the bowl was broken inside the lip. Bathroom was minimal with torn shower curtain and no shelf for putting soap, all fixtures were very old. Ironing board was shared among several rooms and has no sponge left under the cover. We only stayed for one night (as booked) so it was adequate for that.
Good facilities inside the hotel suitable for a longer stay. Bar and restaurant. Lift/elevator.

United StatesThis place is quite old school-definitely Scottish as all get out. Room basically looked like something out of the 50s in Glasgow-completely out of date & a bit small. Wifi barely worked. As I was only overnighting on my way to Queenstown, not a big deal & the location in the centre was convenient. I do give credit to the front desk clerk as I missed that I needed to reserve parking for my rental in their small lot but she said there was an open space or two & since I was only staying overnight she let me park there gratis.
