Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There is nothing to not like
The property is immaculate it is spacious with good parking it is really quite well off the road. The apartment is lovely has a big bathroom two nice bedrooms with very comfortable beds a full size fridge a kitchen and dining room also all very well appointed.

On entering the property, the size of the outdoor living area is unknown. The grounds are stunning, the swans, fruit trees and walk ways made this an enjoyable and surprising experience, all coupled with a very accommodating host.

Google maps indicates the address properly. But, the car navigation app Waze indicated wrongly the next side street
Our host was friedly and adviced us on the use of the washing machine and barbeque. Orewa and Red Beach are "beach resorts". Silverdale is just an Auckland suburb behind the beaches. For us the location was good, suitable distance from the North (Kerikeri, Waitangi, Russell) in our way to explore areas south from Auckland. The place is also close to shops including well stocked Woolworths for food.

There was nothing I didn't like. The toilet freshener spray was empty but that has probably been resolved by now.
Very good continental breakfast. Even though the property is on the main road, it is far enough down an accessway that traffic noise is not an issue. Its location was convenient. Absolutely stunning grounds. Friendly host.

Lovely quiet house at the end of a long driveway. Home from home. Two large bedrooms and a kitchen diner enough for the 2 of us. The gardens were lovely despite the rain we walked to see their "pond" which was a small lake! Nice breakfast left for us,

Not a thing!
Quiet and so comfortable. Beautiful surroundings. Great location. Easy access from vehicle. Roomy. Lovely simple breakfast. Immaculate setup. Picture views from all the windows. Terrific small kitchen. We stayed for 1 day but would be perfect for multiple days.

Lovely place to stay! It was very comfortable, homely and had everything we needed with the added bonus of a beautiful garden. The owners were very friendly and helpful, they even gave us a lift into town as we had no transport. Would highly recommend.

Having reading lights by bedside would be an asset. Somewhat harsh overhead lighting in sitting room. A bit tricky to find in the dark but directions were very specific and helped a lot.
Gorgeous grounds, private, quiet - just as described. Beds were very comfortable, linens and towels were great, bathroom shower was awesome. A variety of breakfast food was provided. Very hospitable hosts. The grounds were a delight to explore in the morning.
