the shower had only cold, something I overlooked when booking, but there has to be one thing not perfect when you get a room like that for the price I paid. so no harm done.

lovely place with garden and big room in a great location. the staff was friendly and helpful, I only had sometimes difficulty to understand their Spanish dialect.

If I owned the place, I would take better care of the yard :)

We spent two nights at the hostal. It is located in the front of the market where you can get fruits etc. It is also close to the main square. The place was very quiet, and working people very helpful. Breakfast was simple but sufficient for us. We missed vegetables, so we just crossed the street and bought them at the market.

    1. Not an issue of the hostel per se, but water was unavailable by government mandated restrictions due to drought. 2. Breakfast was a little simple though identical to those served to us at other accomodations in the area.

    1. Staff was very friendly and flexible. We could store our bagage while going on a trek and after checking out. We were also allowed to lend a towel for during the trek, which was extremely helpful. 2. The hostel is directly adjacent to one of the local markets. This was very convenient. Also a few minutes walking from the city center. 3. The garden was a good spot to relax.

It could have been cleaner. I also found a lot of hairs that were not mine. The room was a little cold but it was fine to sleep in once under the blankets. The shower was warm but the pressure wasn't great. A little difficult to communicate with other staff apart from Luis with my basic Spanish.

The location was very good. It was in a quiet area but still very close to the centre of town. You get a nice breakfast of eggs and bread with juice and tea or coffee. Luis the owner/ manager is very nice. I was able to store my bag there when I did the Inca trail which was great. For the price it is very good.

Quaint, simple, clean small room with all required amenities. The owner was very attentive, answered all of our questions and really made us feel welcome. He was happy to share his knowledge of the area and help us to the best of his abilities. The hostel is located within the old Cusco, very close to lots of activities and across the street from a small market which we quite enjoyed.

Inexpensive lodging option near town, very friendly owner, but best for those that speak Spanish
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Twin Room
    • Stayed 3 nights

Communicating with the staff (once the owner left) at night was difficult due to our inability to speak Spanish. So we couldn't figure out how to ask for the doorbell to be turned off near the guest rooms. This means that every half hour or so, until about 3:00 am, we were woken up to people needing to get in (since even those already checked-in had to ring the doorbell to gain access). That made the next day very difficult, since we were leaving at 5:00 am for our tour. Some maintenance issues could use some attention. The TV was not hooked up, the hot water in the shower never worked because the valve in the bathroom is broken making for some very cold showers, and one morning there was no cold water, either, so we were glad we brought our hand sanitizer. After our tour of Machu Picchu, the doorbell issue was taken care of, and the cold water worked again. But we never got breakfast because, by refusing Coca Tea and Coffee, I think it was assumed we didn't want juice or bread or anything at all, which made for some very hungry mornings. Honestly, it's my fault for visiting a Spanish-speaking country without confidence in Spanish, so mea culpa. But next time, I will pay more and stay at a hotel that caters to foreign tourists.

The owner, who always called me "my friend" is super helpful. His English is good, and the experience was positive. The room we had was spacious, and the en suite bathroom was nice to have. The owner arranged a taxi for us back to the airport that was less than half of the price we paid for an Uber from the airport a few days before. The location is good, with some great restaurants just a 5-minute walk away. The main business district was about a 10 minute walk away. The rates were low enough that when I booked an overnight tour to Machu Picchu, I didn't feel the need to check out and take everything with me to Agua Callientes, so the prices were excellent.

WiFi is great in lobby area (and is a great place to chill) but gets a bit temperamental sometimes in the rooms.

WOW. Amazing place. A stones throw from the central historico with all the main sites, but the accomodation is in the building behind which means it's super quiet and peaceful. Rooms aren't modern but they are very clean and bed is comfortable. Courtyard is a great space to relax. Breakfast is tasty, eggs, juice, bread, GOOD coffee. But above all the hosts are wonderful! Super kind, hospitable, friendly people. Loved our stay here.

It's a budget option for that great neighborhood of course. The rooms we're a bit humid and the shower drain was clogged so the water stayed in for quite some time.

We had a briefing for the Inca trail, and they received the guide well whilst we weren't there yet. The rooms are in the back, so very quiet but still perfectly in the beautiful San Blas area. When my mum lost her way coming to the hostel , the owner didn't hesitate one second to go out on the street with his little baby on the arm to go and look for her. He was also incredibly flexible with the checkout hour and keeping the luggage for a bit. Breakfast is simple but good.

My partner got a food intoxication while we were staying there (not due to the food of the hotel) and Luis provided all the support you could hope for in such a situation. We were allowed to keep the room longer and he helped us a lot, would definitively recommened this place with a unique sense of hospitality.

I found many antes in my toilet. Small ones and in the wall, so did not really bother me. Bear in mind that I did not even mention this to the owner, so I did not give them the chance to find a solution, I am sure they would have tried.

Very gentle and friendly staff. They were very nice and helpful with my late check-in and early check-out some days later. Helped me get an early breakfast and storage some bags while away. Location is good in front of San Blas market.
