How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The bed has a thin mattress and it's not comfortable, the room needs renovation,there were broken sockets,the floor had holes and the walls are dirty.
The location and the fact that it had parking.

Bed mattress needs updating

Wi-fi didn't work,because passwords didn't fit. No reactions from personal to help with it. Far from center.

The where no furniture in the balcony. At least soap in the shower would be nice.

Sleeping in the bed as well as sofa was really poor. Poor mattress and sofa caused back pains.

Too much "fresh air perfume" for the bed linen and all the apartment. Was hard to sleep due to the perfume smell. Not all lamps and lights worked, "industrial" (not warm) lights.
Good stay for one night. Reasonable price. Pet friendly. Car parking. WiFi.

I was under the impression we would have a washing machine in the apartment as it was listed in the booking - after getting in touch with the owners, we were told this apartment didn't have the facilities
It was a lovely flat in a quiet location. The locals were very friendly.

The heating wasn't turned on for the two nights we stayed there at the end of October. The host was kind and communicated quickly with us about the issue and seemed to be working on it. Unfortunately the heating was not fixed within the two days we were there. The only other downside was that the Windows facing the parking lot did not have blinds.
A newly remodeled family suite in a wonderful location. The setup was great and there was more than enough space for 6 people. It had all the necessary kitchen equipment other than a coffee maker. You can walk five minutes to the bus stop and take the same bus back and forth to the city center. The host communicated well with us and in a timely manner. I would stay here again once I knew the issues below are taken care of.

The heat did not work, we sat in cold rooms. The heat started below 10 degree, we had 12 degree inside the rooms and we were frozen. That was very uncomfortable.
Clean and quiet. The host answered always very quickly.

Unconfortable beds, no dishtowel in kitchen, nobody at reception most of the time, some pieces of furniture were very very used, bathroom would need renovation and more detailed cleaning, but still all served, quite far from city centre, no washing machine in our appartment

there was no hot water in the evening and it had not appeared until 10am. we did not understand from the host either - it is the system or there was a technical problem. poor communication. if you don't like the very strong smell of laundry detergent, I suggest you choose another place. we couldn't sleep because of the smell.

The bedding was a little dirty :(
It was very spacious. All the amenities were included - private parking, stove, fridge, washing machine, extra blankets etc. Staff was polite and easy to communicate with. For this price - an amazing deal.

The linen and towels were too smelly - they had probably used too much fabric softener. The view from the window was not good.
